Peaceful NYE Getaway
This is a beautiful Hut in a calm, quiet area of Te Miro within a short drive from Cambridge. The hut has been beautifully restored, capturing the essence of a small Sheperdess hut with decor and finishings that transport you to another era. A few things to note; there is no wifi and bathing is outdoors (shower & bath tub) it is for someone who wants a digital detox and to find stillness and relaxation with nature. The property is eco friendly. The kitchen is fully stocked with a microwave, kettle, fridge, toaster, mini stove top with oven and a Webber BBQ outside, Utensils etc and a stocked pantry with jams and lots of tea/coffee. You will need to take your own milk/water. There are plenty of towels, blankets & robes! Lovely amenities in the toilet (hand cream etc) The outdoor bath is devine & definitely a moment to savor. Dealing with the host was very easy. They were accommodating and left us to enjoy the experience. The property is pet friendly and there were no extra charges to bring our dog. The property is up a long private gravel driveway next to their farm. You are on your own block of land.
Nothing negative here, just a few preferences -There is no couch or sofa in the living area. It’s 2 chairs and a dining table set (very small space) this isn’t a negative but limits where you can stretch out and relax! -The double bed was very soft and bouncy & I noticed there were no legs on the base which may have been the reason. It felt like I was sleeping on 2 mattresses :-) -While the outdoor bath was the sales pitch for me there is no privacy at the opposite end of the deck to block the view from the distant neighbors. Perhaps add tall plants/trees to add privacy. -we tried to use the bbq but had issues with igniting the flame so we couldn’t use it (I’m not sure if there was a bbq lighter in the kitchen)
