Thoughtful touches include an upstairs toilet, two private patio areas leading from the living room, and one bedroom for enjoying coffee amidst the surrounding history and wildlife, and discreet exterior charm that gives little hint of the wow-factor interior beyond the large oak front door. Guests enjoy exclusive use of the entire building, one private parking space beside the house, and ample roadside parking nearby. Please be aware The steps leading down to the bottom room are paddle stairs so please take extra care when going down them.

Nature lovers will be spoiled for choice, with the stunning Hardcastle Crags, a National Trust woodland valley with scenic walking trails, waterfalls, and the historic Gibson Mill, right on your doorstep.

The Rochdale Canal, running through the heart of Hebden Bridge, provides a peaceful route for walking or cycling, while the surrounding Pennine hills invite more adventurous hikes and breathtaking viewpoints. The town also boasts a lively cultural calendar, from the Hebden Bridge Arts Festival to the Handmade Parade, ensuring there’s always something unique to experience. For history enthusiasts, nearby Heptonstall is a charming hilltop village with medieval ruins, cobbled lanes, and the final resting place of poet Sylvia Plath. Railway connections make day trips effortless, with direct trains to Manchester and Leeds offering the perfect mix of rural tranquillity and city exploration.

Whether you’re seeking outdoor adventure, local heritage, or simply the chance to immerse yourself in a warm and welcoming community, Hebden Bridge and the Calder Valley deliver it all, making your stay at the Paper Mill Boiler House not just a luxurious escape, but a gateway to one of the most beautiful and culturally rich areas in the country.
