Beautiful view lost in the mountains, peaceful and delicious breakfast

Everything was super nice the road to get there is small so plan a tuk tuk which the hotel can arrange or walk down 10 minutes

Such a unique place to stay. In the jungle with all the associated bird and animal sounds! A lovely balcony to enjoy and have breakfast each morning. Our hosts met us and served afternoon tea when we arrived which was lovely. They also served us breakfast which was a mix of local foods, fresh juices and tropical fruits. The hosts looked after us well.

It must be said this property is a tad remote and is tricky to navigate upon arrival. To reach Ella town you walk down the train tracks which takes 20 minutes. It’s fun but take a torch. Tuk Tuk can get you so far but then a short walk down tracks to reach the property. The bed was a bit creaky and water pressure is low but this is to be expected when you take note of its position. We stayed 3 nights and it would have been nice to had the room cleaned/bins emptied etc but a minor niggle.

The view from the room and balcony was stunning. The room had its own private Wi-Fi router, making the internet one of the fastest and most reliable we experienced in Sri Lanka.

The property is in a very secluded area next to a railway track, quite far from the city. Due to the poor road conditions, PickMe drivers often don't accept rides, so we had to book tuk-tuks through the owner at roughly twice the usual cost. Walking at night isn't practical because the area is surrounded by forest, with no streetlights and the presence of leeches. Communication with the host was sometimes challenging due to the language barrier, which led to repeated misunderstandings. The breakfast was dry, as coconut roti was served without any curry. When we tried to raise this issue, the host misunderstood our concern.
