The Nirwana cottage

We felt very welcome during our whole stay. The cottage is owned by an absolutely kind and helpful son & mother duo. They provided us with all the information we needed and gave us nice recommendations (food, hike) and helped us with the transportation on check-in & check-out day. We couldn’t have asked for better hosts. We had the choice between Sri Lankan & western breakfast. Everything was delicious and plenty. Because we were leaving quite early on check-out day we asked for an early breakfast which was absolutely no problem. Thank you so much for that! :) The accommodation itself lies far into the hills, has a very nice view over the mountains and is surrounded by nature with birds and monkeys you can watch from the nice veranda. The room is spacious, clean, hot shower worked perfectly fine, ventilator and mosquito net & repellent are in the room. It has a kettle, tea, coffee aswell and even some books and a yoga mat :)

Der Gastgeber und seine Familie waren total toll und herzig und haben immer ihr Bestes gegeben uns zu unterstützen! Das Frühstück war super lecker, die Unterkunft sauber und gemütlich. Wir haben uns sehr wohlgefühlt!

We spent some wonderful days in Ella, surrounded by the jungle… it felt like having our own little private safari around the cottage! The room is away from the noise and chaos of the town center, and it takes about 5 minutes by tuk-tuk to get there. Sanjee is a thoughtful, very kind, and helpful host, always ready to assist us and give advice whenever needed. And his mother, a lovely lady, prepares delicious breakfasts! We had a great stay. The bed was very comfortable, and the room was clean and spacious.

Nothing, it’s been all perfect for us.

This was a fantastic stay, the food was delicious cooked by the lovely hosts mother. The breakfast was the best we had in Sri Lanka, our host looked after us generously despite not feeling well. He went above and beyond to make us feel welcome, thank you for an amazing stay!
