Gilberts Townhouse

Right in the center of the square- so much fun (but if you want an early night on a Saturday night maybe not for you.)

Parking was a bit of a problem as all on street and quite crowded

Perfect location and very quiet Gilberts restaurant staff were lovely

Floor wasn't swept properly The bed was a bit squeaky The room was too warm. No fan available No fridge Lidl toiletries! Other friends stayed 5 minutes away for much cheaper with a superior room and a view that money couldn't buy with breakfast included and designer toiletries

We were given room 5 which is essentially a 1 bedroom apartment. Gilberts is situated right in the center of Cobh, close to bars, restaurants & shops & we found it very comfortable. We will definitely stay again.

It wasn't an issue for us, but the staircase to the rooms is narrow & spiral by design. It would probably be difficult to use if you are elderly or disabled in any way.

Room #5 was nice in that there were separate bed, bath, living room and kitchenette. Overall the unit needs an upgrade on furnishing and the kitchen needs a remodel.

The sofa cushions did NOT fit the couches. The dining table and chairs need to be replaced. The trim on the chairs was coming off. There was no information on trash, recycling etc. There was a washer/dryer but no instructions for how to use them. Also, no AC or fan for when it is hot. The windows only opened so far. The cutlery in a "tub" in the kitchen was interesting to say the least. there was not a bottle opener or cork screw so I bought one and left it there. The dishes are mismatched and spare. I would have appreciated a shower mat and some hand towels. I bought a hand towel for myself and some "wash clothes"
