Yufuin Ryokan Yufumomiji

The in room, private onsen was good. The temperature of the water was very warm. I quite liked it. The location is decent if you come with your car.

The staff was friendly and nice. The price is a little high for the overall service quality. We stayed at a top notch Ryokan just right before this one, and it was a sudden service quality drop in our experience. Even though price was similar. Nobody greets you, the front desk was pretty much empty during our check in / check out times. It’s more like a hotel than a Japanese ryokan. The introduction to the room and the facilities were lacking and very rushed. The futon beds were really uncomfortable. There’s too much noise coming from other rooms, so it’s not a super relaxation type of place.

Staff were super nice, the experience as a whole was well worth it and the facilities were taken care of perfectly. They helped me find a dinner spot outside the ryokan and also got me a lift there. Shuttle service worked great.
