Lauriston 1 Bedroom Apartment - Edinburgh

We really loved the location of this clean, spacious flat. The kitchen was well-equipped. Would definitely stay here again!

The only two downsides were the challenging shower (unpredictable water temperature - super cold or super hot) and the key was challenging to use.

Nice, central location. Sleeping room was quiet (limited outside noise).

The shower veered wildly between scalding hot and ice-cold.

• The location of this property were very good and close to all the attractions the city has to offer. • Standard key safe, with clear instructions. • Bedroom and bathroom, very clean. • Balcony area and the ability to open windows wide were a welcome relief in this hot spell of weather.

On booking this property the level of intrusive information required for identification purposes was over the top and unnecessary in my opinion. You had the feeling that you were under interrogation by by a secret government department, and It did put a dampener on your break before it even began. At first sight the facade of the property is particularly unappealing. Poorly maintained door and entrance way gave an uneasy feeling to what one might expect in the property itself. Thankfully, the apartment at first sight seemed bright and cheerful. The bedroom, had two single beds (as advertised) which I thought to be an odd choice, but I assume there is a valid reason for this. There is a slight odour of stale tobacco in the sofa and curtains presumably from a previous occupant, as I think this may have been a student apartment at one time. This may explain the reason for the kitchen sporting both a fridge and a fridge freezer. Windows are not clean throughout and the kitchen could stand a little TLC and there is an overall cheap feeling in the apartment. The property is fit for purpose, but in all fairness could do with some quality work.
