We had a wonderful stay at Serenity Villa. The service was truly excellent, and the host was incredibly kind and welcoming. He gave us great tips and did everything he could to make our stay as enjoyable as possible. The room was very clean and spacious, and the bed was extremely comfortable, we slept so well here! Overall, a fantastic place to stay and we would definitely recommend it to anyone looking for a relaxing and pleasant experience. 🤍

The room and bathroom are very specious and beautifully decorated, the best property we stayed in Sri Lanka. It’s very close to the main street but hidden away so we didn’t hear any noise. There is a lovely garden where you can chill, we saw several monkeys around and even a porcupine 😀 You can rent a scooter from the owner, and they can only provide laundry services which was a great help. Amila is the most friendly host we’ve ever had. We ended up having some food and drinks together, we learnt a lot about local culture. We needed to extend our stay due to the airspace closure in the Middle East and there was no better place to be stuck than Amila’s lovely house! Highly recommended!

We had a wonderful stay at Serenity Villa Dickwella. The property offers hotel‑like facilities but with the warmth and comfort of a home stay vibe. The mornings were a delight, with a delicious breakfast and very good coffee to start the day. Amila, the host, is super friendly and welcoming, always ready to help with tips and recommendations. And Ayu, his wonderful dog, contributed to making the stay even more homie and cozy. The villa itself is in a quiet location away from traffic noise, perfect for relaxing, yet it’s only a short walk to the beach and a quick tuk tuk ride to all the main attractions. Overall, it’s a peaceful and authentic place to stay, combining comfort, great hospitality, and easy access to all the highlights. One of our best stays in Sri Lanka! Highly recommend it, already missing it!

We stayed at another property hosted by Amila around the same time last year and loved it so much that we chose to stay with him again this year — and once again, it exceeded our expectations. Amila is incredibly kind and genuinely hospitable. He previously worked in Japan and speaks fluent Japanese, as well as excellent English. He shared so much with us about Sri Lankan culture, local food, and hidden spots, which made our trip even more special and memorable. We especially looked forward to the delicious homemade breakfast and great coffee every morning. Amila’s parents always welcomed us with warm smiles, and spending time with their lovely dog Ayu was truly comforting. You might also spot monkeys or squirrels around the property, which adds to the charm of the stay. This newly opened accommodation features bright rooms with large open windows and a clean, minimalist design that feels calm and relaxing. There is also a shared kitchen, which allowed us to cook simple meals a few times during our stay — a big plus. We went surfing every day, and thanks to the scooter we rented through the property, we were able to explore different beaches easily. Although the guesthouse is conveniently located near town, it is set slightly away from the main road, making it very quiet and peaceful. Airport transfers can also be arranged upon request, which was very helpful. We would absolutely love to stay here again next year and highly recommend this place to anyone visiting Sri Lanka.
The only minor downside is that there are quite a few mosquitoes, which is unavoidable in this area. If you plan to relax in the garden, bringing mosquito repellent is definitely recommended.
