The property was in a great location within walking distance of Bowness and Windermere, easy on street parking or multiple cars, a perfect base for us. The property was clean and tidy, well appointed and spacious for a group of 5. The hosts were very helpful before arrival and arranged a highchair/cot, and on arrival we found they’d also provided children’s bowl/plate/cutlery etc and left some toys out as well, a lovely touch!
Nothing we didn’t like, only very small suggestion we might make would be the option of stairs gates for little ones as it’s a townhouse with stairs that are fun to explore (!). Only a very small thing and didn’t impact our stay negatively.

Great location and beautifully presented. Had everything we needed and felt clean and fresh.
We were unable to stand up properly in the limited height of the attic room and it had no door to separate it as a room.

Truly an exceptional stay at 1 Thornbarrow. I thought it would be a little smaller, but I was pleasantly surprised how spacious, light and airy the house felt. It was like a home from home. It was very clean and beautifully presented. The kitchen had everything we needed. Board games were available. The downstairs utility wasn’t needed for us, but is an excellent feature and had laundry products. Plenty of storage. Great location and lovely walks down to Bowness and into Windermere centre. Bus stop barely 100 yards from the house. Would definitely stay here again.
Parking on the road may have been a struggle if we arrived in more than one car, but I’m sure we would have found space further up the road.

Sally has thought of everything you could need for a comfortable, enjoyable stay - from washing up liquid, to bathroom toiletries, to a heated airer for soaking wet waterproofs (which we used frequently). The house was pristine, and had very comfy beds. A short walk from the restaurants, shops and the lake. An ideal base for a long weekend away with the family.
Nothing - we couldn’t fault it!
