Lovely comfortable home ideally situated in Bowness on Windermere

Fantastic location! Just a short walk to the lake and shops/ restaurants. We enjoyed a comfortable stay in this lovely home. Bowness on Windermere is beautiful and Bracken Crag is an ideal base to explore the Lake District. Host Manda is so friendly and helpful checking in and making sure all was OK.

Great location.

A great place to stay in Bowness on Windermere. Location is just outside of the town, we were attending a wedding at The Ro hotel which was literally five minutes away so perfect for us! A little further down the road and you're in the centre of the town. The beds were comfortable and we heard no noise from the street so had a wonderful night's sleep. The shower is actually the same one we have at home so we knew it would be a good one! There's a large secured shower head and a smaller one you're able to remove. Both have great water pressure. The kitchen was fully equipped and had everything you'd need. The living room had plenty of space for all of us (5 adults and one child) and had plenty of dvds and games to use if you would like to. Manda the host was very friendly and kindly messaged throughout our stay to make sure everything was ok and to just shout if we needed anything. We didn't need to contact them but I'm sure if we did need to, nothing would have been a problem! Entry to the house was smooth with the key in a drop box and then further sets inside the house. The WiFi had good connection too. There is free parking on the street the property is on, however it was quite busy. Overall we were happy with our stay and would look to book again.

If you have trouble with stairs then this property might not be for you, upon entry you go down a narrow hallway and then open the door to the property which is upstairs. The bedrooms are then up a further flight of stairs. I understand the property has recently had new carpets throughout and this was welcomed, however I feel like the property could do with a deep clean. The property is clean, don't get me wrong but it could definitely do with a little more tlc. I understand this might be hard if the property is always booked!

Great property and perfect location

There were 6 of us came for a weekend walking. Great location, and the house had everything we needed for our stay. Beds and sofas were comfy. Good shower. Free parking outside. Great value for the area. What more can you ask for?

We had a lovely time. The accommodation was in a good place for walking down to the lake.

There was plenty of space for us to sit in the lounge. The kitchen was very well equipped. The beds were very comfortable and we all slept well.

Beautiful budget friendly property

Property is amazing especially if you travelling with babies. Kitchen has got all utensils and facilities which helped a lot in our stay

Found few furniture parts and bedding thing underneath the bed in master bedroom which i found as bit uncomfortable otherwise the property is just like another home in ur favourite travel destination.

location excellent. size was spot on.

Bit of mold in double bedroom Had to remove a screw from the carpet plate leading to the bathroom as a screw wasn’t down straight so the head was on an angle and I cut the bottom of my foot. Bathroom floor could really do with being replaced. Small bedroom really need a handle on the inside to be able to close it. Toilet roll holder would be good. Knowing where the roof window pole was to open them would be good in the welcome notes. Both keys on the hooks only one set opens the front door. so test before taking them

Very good

Decent cottage for the price for 5 guests. Everything you will need is on hand & I mean EVERYTHING. All rooms of a very good size apart from single room. Location is OK.. bit of a steep hill going back. Plenty taxis available if needed from Costa coffee. Parking is free, but you'll need to park right at the very top of the street. Could be a pain if constantly using the car.

1 toilet between 5 guests is not ideal. Plus the fact it's on the floor below the bedrooms. But we knew this b4 we booked.

Family holiday in Bowness

Great location for exploring Bowness and free parking on the street nearby was a bonus. Clean and comfortable and felt homely to relax in. Would definitely return for another visit!

Wii remotes didn't work so kids couldn't play on it, that was the only minor flaw. Broken bath hose but was pre-warned about that so we knew.

Comfy Bracken Crag

Stayed in Bracken Crag with family for my daughter's 21st. The accommodation is very accessible to Bowness and there are places to park nearby. We felt relaxed and comfortable here as if it were our own home. The facilities are great and the host was available if there were any problems. Would definitely stay again.

Location is superb. Some really nice scenic walks close by and right in the centre of everything. Was a really nice surprise to find a wii, family board games and Alexa. Great kitchen facilities they actually have more than we have at home.

Great location & spotlessly clean , not just on the surface -inside cupboards etc .. Lots of easy to follow instructions for things . Nice spacious lounge. Beds were comfy & lots of handy things like coat hooks, shoe racks etc ..

Not Bracken Crags fault at all but it was an extremely hot weekend , the upstairs bedrooms were very hot. However I think this would have been a problem anywhere this weekend!

Everything. The proximity to Bowness, the style of decor, facilities. All fabulous. It was also dog friendly, although we had to leave our dog at home! Also it was deceptively spacious. Great value for money.

Absolutely nothing. Loved this accommodation. If I was being picky, it has stairs which wouldn't suit disabled travellers.
