Had a great stay here. The room is beautiful and the view of Villa Nova de Gaia is stunning.
We found the noise from the road during the night a little too much for us. Maybe we are getting old.
Probably wouldn't stay again as a result but if you are a heavy sleeper or used to that sort of thing then highly recommend the place in every other aspect.

The housekeeping is not reliable, I think I even got some bed bug bites. The room is as laid out in the floor plan but how it actually looks. It would only be 2 stars at the most. Even if I put a tag to freshen up the room, the cups were not cleaned. Toiletries are only hand soap and shampoo/body wash.
Cleaning staff seemed like freelancers. There is no one in the property to assist you. The staff who communicated with me was extremely rude and blamed me for checking my room at 2:50pm when the check-in time is 3pm. It was in disarray. Only a fellow guest encouraged me to go back to the room to check if it was cleaned. Their room was also unclean and had the cleaning lady attend to it for 5 minutes. It's not hygienic for a hotel property to only be "fluffed" after each guest.
I would only recommend this place for the loccation.

We were very disappointed because our reservation stated we had River View. We didn’t. The contact person said that wasn’t correct that it didn’t say that. But, So….it did ! Not a good start. The sink and shower drain very slowly. It takes several minutes for toilet to refill. I was constantly tripped on the curled up edges of the rug. One day, someone is going to fall and break a bone. The shower - water gets all over the floor and soaks the bath mat. I loved the old Ed’s but not quite up to what you want while on vacation. We were never given clean towels either. Oh, well.
