Much more spacious throughout than anticipated, yet decor cosy and full of features. Characterful flagstones with underfloor heating. Excellent large wetroom (underfloor heating, high toilet and shower stool) and big downstairs carpeted bedroom with comfortable wing chair for my disabled mother. Loved the feature staircase with hand wrought metal leaves and chestnuts in lieu of spindles. The log burner was perfect for an autumn night watching Traitors! Dog friendly. There are retractable stair gates to stop dogs/children going up and down. Beautiful village with a lovely dog walk along a safe, gated bridleway (down into the Esk valley) metres away. Lovely countryside and only a short drive to the beautiful beaches of Sandsend in particular, and Whitby. Fish Cottage highly recommended for a fishy meal. On exiting the village stunning seaviews and the vista over Whitby reveal themselves. Pub a couple of minutes walk away and lots of excellent eateries in the area. The rug in the living room and the chairs in the mezzanine bedroom are new and much nicer and more subtle than in the photos. All the bedrooms are generously sized with comfortable chairs if you want a bit of privacy. All the bedrooms have decent wardrobes and lots of hangers. We loved it and enjoyed the owls hooting at night! It was autumn weather so we didn't use the patio table/bbq space. The front gravelled area is shared with the owners' cars.

A corner lamp beneath the main tv would be nice, we borrowed one from a bedroom to provide softer lighting in the evenings. There's a coffee pod machine (some free pods and sachet coffee) but we would have also enjoyed a coffee press jug as we brought ground coffee, but the kitchen is well equipped. Minor considerations!

The property was a beautifully presented, spacious barn conversion in a great location close to the coast. Parking is good being off-road.
