I would stay here again in a heartbeat! Joji and Alisi were amazing hosts, they organised everything I needed and the food was delicious. It was great meeting other travellers there too, it was a real family vibe. By choosing home stays over resorts, you’re ensuring the local community directly benefits and you actually get to experience Fijian culture.

They cooked us up some wonderful vegetarian meals and found a massage lady for my husband with his sore shoulder.

There is nothing wrong with this place. Small, AC room in the family’s house. The family were lovely and did everything to make our stay comfortable and pleasant. We paid $20 each for excellent meals at dinner time. The shared bathroom was expected & fine

When booking this accommodation be aware that it is just a basic, small bedroom in the family’s house. It is not an ‘apartment’ as stated on booking.com nor does it have all the facilities as listed although you could use the family’s own home facilities. We are not the type of people who like this type of accommodation but still had good night sleep. Accommodation around Rakiraki is either expensive Resort or this type of homestay. Nowhere to swim ( beach or pool) except if you paid $50 per person at resort!! Another cost was $20 to village chief to stay in the village.
