Wai Makare Beach Retreat

The place is amazing, you are right by the beach, crystal water and the shared areas are cool. Food is good portions and good. They are really nice and they borrowed us a kayak to explore. You can walk to the other side of the island and there is another beautiful beach. So much coral and fish to see around.

Shared bathroom has quite a lot of insects and not the best. We stayed in a double room with shared bathroom. They have outside shower that is better.

The location, the reef and possible walk options were great. It was nice to meet a great bunch bunch of international travels. Shared meals and shared travel stories and games were enjoyable. Dinner was great. One night we had freshly caught fish. Yummy

Breakfast and lunch was a bit light. We expected a little more. We had been warned and arrived with a bag of muesli.

Great location, great activities to do and the manta rays was exceptional. Emily and her family were all very warm and friendly. They lit a fire in the evenings which was great and the food was nice too. Jay was great.

Value for money, it was quite expensive for what it was, especially in comparison to other places we stayed in Fiji. I think breakfast at 25$ pp is a lot to charge for pancakes/eggs on toast.

Good location, nice beach and hammock area. Friendly staff, free wifi

Not very clean, extremely uncomfortable bed, food was hit or miss - generally not good value for 40 dollars per day. We were also hit with a hidden cost as soon as we arrived, 60 dollars to cover the booking.com commission. They also tried to overcharge when checking out, they tried to charge for transfer per person rather than per booking (as stated on booking confirmation), they also tried to increase the cost of the Manta Ray swimming versus what they told us prior to going on it. They did not make us pay this when we called it out, but worth keeping an eye out for this.
