I like that the place looks clean and new, the view from the window of my room is beautiful during the winter season. The dining room is also cosy and inviting, great for hanging out with friends. Generally everything seemed pretty organised. Location is considered a pretty easy walk to the ski area. Appreciate the shower booths with curtains for a more private shower compared to other ryokans with shared bathrooms I've stayed at before. The staff members were really friendly and helpful throughout the stay.

The walls between the rooms can be a little thin when there were loud neighbours staying in the room next door on the first night. Thankfully all other nights were quiet and peaceful. Just my own personal preference in food, as an asian I do crave for more hearty or Japanese meals for breakfast, but I am still enjoyed the thick toast available for breakfast too.

Nona is a lovely lodge in Madarao with a warm, welcoming atmosphere and walking distance from the slopes. The place is run by a Japanese-Australian family. We also met with owners from Australia. The staff is exceptionally kind, helpful, and genuinely caring. Rooms are clean and comfortable, the breakfast is simple but very good, and each morning something different. The ski-gear drying room is extremely convenient after a day on the slopes. Highly recommended for a relaxed ski stay.

The atmosphere was so welcoming and family-friendly. The self-serve snack bar and après ski were fantastic touches after a day on the mountain. They had a great selection of card and board games for relaxing evenings. The location and facilities were excellent, and our room was spacious and comfortable.
