Riaah - Warm & Modern Renovated Home on the Broads

Snug, well equipped, comfortable.

Arrived at 4.30pm. No key code so couldn't get in, no answer to email or phone no. Went to site reception, ladies there could not contact owner either. They were very helpful and gave us a spare key .Luckily I went there before they closed at 5pm or we would have had to have gone home again. Key code finally arrived after 7pm. Apologetic message next day with offer of refund for 1st night. Code no longer a available when leaving so key had to be left at reception. 2nd bedroom had tiny (6inch?) gap between beds.

Clean, comfortable and great location

The site is lovely, and very quiet. It’s in a great location next to a fabulous park. You can tell that the property has been thoughtfully presented by someone who really cares, and the owner is absolutely lovely and very responsive. The beds are comfortable.

The property information felt quite overwhelming, there is a handbook that tells you quite a bit of information over and over again. I also struggled a bit with the key safe as I didn’t realise I had to press the * button at the start and end of the code. I know the owner has the space professionally cleaned, but the space didn’t feel really clean.

The location is right on the edge of a marina and Oulten Broad. Sited between the nature reserve marshes and well facilitated Nicholas Everitt Park. Scoreboard park nearby, lovely beach, fun boat trip. Open lido plus inflatable only 20 mi utes away in Beccles, and for model railway fans a great exhibition 50 mins away. Our 6yo even attended a super judo class. The cabin was extremely well kitted and fitted. Francesca has definitely made the most of a small space to provide nearly everything you might need. The kitchen was well equipped, even with glass storage, which was valuable. The sliding and folding doors great, fans for the heat, charging stations, even a patio ‘fence’ for dogs. The local staff were friendly and helpful plus plenty of recycling waste bins.

Duvets - no sections so all the stuffing would collect down one end. One of the twin beds is missing a strut so you would fall through if you sat down, and neither feel very robust. Neither stopped us really enjoying the week.
