Shinjyuku Kabukisho vacation stay self check in

The location was great, it's actually in Koreatown which was cool. Easy walking distance to the train station, and Shinjuku central area, lots of shops and restaurants around. The bunk beds are a great idea. It was clean and we were able to keep the temperature comfortable with the aircon. The price was great for Tokyo.

The bathroom is the smallest I've ever seen, there was no way to shower without being in constant contact with the shower curtain. The bathroom door was held together with tape on one side and not held together at all on the other side. Two of the mattresses are innerspring, the kind that you can feel EVERY spring. I've never been happier to get a foam mattress. The only mirror in the unit is inside the tiny wet bathroom, with 2 women wanting to do hair and makeup this was really annoying. There is nowhere to get dressed in (dry) privacy. I would recommend the owners install a curtain across the entryway to block off a semi private space, replace 2 of the mattresses and install an extra mirror. There was a small balcony that you could not access because the bed was blocking it, so no option for natural ventilation.
