    Room is basic but did the job. The room was very small, does not fit two open suitcases. Showers had good pressure.

    10 min away from Kyoto Station and nearby a convenience store. Also right across supposedly the largest Daiso in Kyoto. The post office is 5 min down the block and there is also a tattoo-friendly sauna about 8 min away. In sum, the location is good. Now, the staff during the day can't speak English and that's a shame considering half the clientele is foreign and it's the hotel industry. The night staff *** speaks English and actually is fast and professional. The room was dirty. There was a large space between the bed and the window and there was used receipt etc. Nobody cleaned that space. Amenities (towels, body wash, shampoo, toothbrush etc) are provided for free. You need to pay for the laundry machine and dryers. The bathrooms and showers are clean. The rooms are not sound proof. I was woken up at 1am coz of the guest upstairs doing who knows what, moving furtniture? You can't eat and drink in your room... and we can't leave the bags after checking out or at a very expensive fair of 2000 per hour (leaving them before checking in is free)....I had to go to Kyoto station to leave them at the lockers (costs me less than 1k yen for the whole day). So yeah kind cheap but if it was not for the noise disturbance, I would recommend.
