Black Horse Cottage

Location

Nothing

Location is scenic and next to a fantastic pub with great food, given the proximity I was concerned about noise but it was a very peaceful and quiet stay.

It’s a really cosy cottage in a lovely location. It’s really well kitted out for those that really want to use the facilities. The location is great. You are about 8-10 feet from a lovely pub. It’s a great option whatever the weather. In the summer you’ll walk into town and catch a train on the wonderful settle-Carlisle line. In the winter or the wet it’s a lovely cosy spot to just enjoy or take a few feet walk to the pub. Host is responsive and accommodating. Settle station is walkable (15 minutes) as is the town (10 minutes). It’s superb value for money when compared to other options.

Bathroom is a bit dark and there’s no mirror. There’s a 6 bulb light and only one works as of writing in October 2026. Easy fix.

Good location, all necessary facilities, comfortable beds.

Problem with communication about parking, needs clearer guidelines if you can use Black Horse pub car park, otherwise parking is impossible in village.
