Cairnhill House - cosy 3 bedroom

A lovely older house, nicely decorated and spacious (apart from the kitchen as the fridge freezer is in the porch). There are steps withln the house between the kitchen and lounge/dining room, and within the bathroom (The toilet is located near the step). Washing up liquid, kitchen towel, a sponge, a cloth, a laundry pod and toilet roll were provided. The house is a located close to Airdrie railway station (which is good for travelling into Glasgow and Edinburgh) and Tesco's, as well wider road network for visiting places further away.

Road noise is an issue especially if staying in the downstairs bedroom. At first we thought a window was open. It might help to have shutters and black out curtains to reduce the road noise coming through. The house is located on a busy road, near a junction. If you are a light sleeper I would bring ear plugs. The bathroom could benefit from a towel rail as there is no where to hang a hand towel, as well as some shelves or unit as there is no where to store your wash bag. Also the bed in the downstairs room is quite hard. Parking is not provided within the site or behind the property. Parking behind the houses is for apartments 49A and 49B and houses 51 and 53. The parking information isn't clear in the bookings.com information. We made the mistake of driving into the area behind the houses and a resident came out very quickly! He was nice but did email the owners who emailed us and said they had received a complaint about our parking! We hadn't even parked the car!! The parking space is located behind the parking for the houses and is a space with a half built garage and a lot of moss with no signage (No wonder there is no photo of that!).

The house was perfect for a family to explore the beauty of Scotland. All facilities were exceptional and we didn't want for anything. Checking in simple with key lock box on back door. Everything required was available in terms of keeping house clean and tidy whilst there.

Personal preference but mattress in downstairs bedroom was a bit hard.
