About this cottage rental
(Permit ZSTR-03-24-00978/LIC007148) Nestled at the end of an avenue of Live Oaks, our lowcountry guesthouse offers a peaceful retreat with all of the modern conveniences. Our property is home to beautiful birds, turkey & deer. We are centrally located with easy access to downtown Charleston, Folly, or the airport in 20 minutes, 20 minutes to Kiawah, Seabrook and Wadmalaw Islands. Dinner nearby at Johns Island restaurants, Wild Olive/Royal Tern, or cook up your own fresh catch of the day!
We invite you to enjoy the tranquil surroundings and unwind in this phenomenal retreat.The cozy space features 2 queen beds and 2.5 bathrooms. Life is a little slower and quiet here. With a gravel road, ample trees to include an avenue of Grand Live Oaks and natural buffers, we have created a home away from home for our family and closest friends and extend it now to you. You will feel further from town than you actually are. Gas lanterns, ceiling fans and rocking chairs on the porch, fresh percale sheets & fresh eggs from our chickens depending on the time of year. Wild turkeys roost in the trees and deer come usually twice a day. Owls sound off about 5 p.m.. If you like to cook - we have pretty much everything you need including local captains at Bohicket Marina you can charter for fresh seafood. Should the weather not cooperate during your stay, relax and enjoy the sound of rain on a tin roof.
Visitors should note we have three steps to the entrance of the cottage and the second bedroom is located on the second floor. Each bedroom has its own private full bath and washer/dryer is available from the primary bedroom. Our kitchen affords granite countertops, is equipped with stainless steel appliances to include a large refrigerator, microwave, stove and dishwasher. We have a Keurig coffee maker with the assorted accoutrements needed for a fresh brewed cup in the morning as well as herbal teas and all the cookware necessary to make a gourmet meal.
Our wraparound porch is perfect for morning coffee and bird watching with four rocking chairs and a dining table.
The upstairs loft includes a perfectly placed handmade desk by a local craftsman with Folly Beach reclaimed wood looking out over the field as well as a big comfy chair in the reading nook for passing the time with your favorite novel. Business class wifi is available throughout and smart TV in the great room and downstairs primary bedroom.
Sharing our private little slice of heaven, we are also sharing our love of all things beautiful as we have carefully curated a collection of original art, sculpture, antiques, and books from southern artisans for Captain’s Quarters. The cottage hosts antique heart pine floors perfect for bare feet, a four-post lowcountry rice bed with Tempur-Pedic mattress in the first floor primary en suite, custom leather bed with feather bed mattress topper in the second floor en suite, designer linens, pillows, and throws. Our wish is that those that visit leave with the feeling of not only being taken care of but also inspired by the simple good life.
