Loved the location, close to my mum’s brother’s apartment. Very clean. Interaction with owners very good. Access was easy via key pad. There’s a pub opposite, with lovely friendly people (a bit of a working men’s pub). Landlord/behind the bar were friendly and helpful. There weren’t meals on offer as there wasn’t a chef, however, they said that bringing your own food onto the premises was absolutely fine. Community spirit is still alive!

My mum is in her mid 70’s and my step dad is 89. They found the ground floor apartment (low tide) suited their mobility, however, they found the beds quite low and found it difficult to get in and out of. There wasn’t a table to have their breakfast/meals from (we asked this question before arriving so knew the situation). Younger people wouldn’t find it a problem to eat off their knees (from a plate of course 🤣) . My uncle brought a small folding table and chairs for them to use, so not an issue once this was sorted.

Cleanliness and layout were excellent, as was the decor. Everything worked as it should. Location was also spot on.

Getting used to new facilities and surroundings always takes a while but after a couple of days we felt very much at home. Basic cleaning equipment could have been supplied. ie. Vacuum or sweeping brush. More tea towels would be useful. The main issue for us however was the lack of a proper dinning table and chairs. We were only a couple and managed alright, even with Xmas dinner but if we had been a family it would have been awkward.

Location Quite comfortable

Despite being asked our arrival time it did not feel welcoming as we arrived at 9pm in November to an apartment with the heating not working , set at 17c anyway but the boiler needed resetting, it takes a while to work all this out. There were no instructions for wifi code, this needed to be requested and further instructions were mostly house rules. The code supplied for the property was correct but the one for the apartment was incorrect. Quite a frustrating and unwelcome start to the stay. One house rules is to remove shoes which is reasonable but there is nowhere to sit and do this if you have limited mobility, the first seat is in the lounge. There is nowhere to sit and eat a meal, this has to be done in your lap, there is no table. I didn’t notice this from the photos. A suggestion would be to move the sideboard that serves no purpose and put a small table in.
