Great location and facilities, but very noisy.

Great location in the city centre, close to the train station and very convenient for commuting. The facilities are excellent, including a dishwasher, washing machine, and dryer.

It is a great location, away from the highway, which is a big advantage. However, the noise from neighbours has been a serious issue. The person next door is often very loud in the evenings — talking and even screaming at 2am on one occasion, and speaking loudly again at 4am on another day. On Saturdays, the noise in the building is particularly bad. There is constant disturbance — doors being slammed, guests coming and going, people walking in high heels along the corridor, and shouting downstairs. I kept waking up throughout the night because of the noise. If you prefer a quiet environment, especially if you are staying over the weekend, you may want to consider a quieter accommodation.

I started booking at this student accommodation last year a few weeks after it had opened - it was cheaper than my usual hotel in town - I travel up for work. I have stayed here about 5-6 times up to before Christmas. Always been a good stay previously - clean, modern, new. Can tell some bits need attention from a fitter still. Also, none of the TVs worked or seemed to connect to the WiFi to use the Apps. Bit of a shame.

Most recent stay - didn’t even manage it. Over December they changed their policy so now it’s absolutely ONLY STUDENTS that can stay here. They still list it on booking.com, rather than a student only site. The only difference in the listing is one single word in the listing title (which is a lengthy title anyway) “only” inserted after ‘student’. And then in the ‘small print’ addendum box that pops up after you click on it - says ‘need a proof of being a student’. Nothing different in the main body text or pictures. Still take your money upfront and non-refundable. I got called on my way up to say I had not sent them any proof of being a student so I wouldn’t be let in. The end of it was - I was up in Leeds having booked for 5 nights for work. They wouldn’t let me stay. Not even ‘ok this time but not next time’ (bearing mind I’d stayed many times before). They seemed to think the changes made to the listing made it crystal clear. And seemed happy to take peoples money up front still and no refunds. I had to try to find alternative accommodation and managed to for four of my nights but had to sleep at work for one night. Due to the awful management and customer relations from a faceless property management company. I want my money back.

Excellent service.

Very informal, helpful staff, room facilities very clean. All mod cons. Just a very streamlined stay. I must say the night staff were excellent. Communication with bloqq was excellent. Honestly I really enjoyed my stay, you should be very proud. 10/10.

Difficulty finding the place initially. Sometimes the main door card didn't work. No Gym.

Had to buy additional food as I couldn’t use the kitchen facilities.

Kitchen was absolutely filthy. Dirty plates everywhere, items stinking out the fridge that were out of date from November. Microwave was filthy. Bins were full and hadn’t been emptied. Didn’t have a big towel to use for the shower.

No opportunity to make a cup of tea on arrival a complementary drink would be nice, towels could have been newer and bigger. No tea towel in kitchen to dry washing up.

Accomodation rip off

The room is is in very newly constructed high quality multistorey student accomodation

At the time of booking it as not disclosed in the description that this was student accomodation or that the kitchen was shared. Although we booked a double room, when we arrived we discovered that we had been allocated a single. This was unacceptable but nothing else was available and when I phoned Bloqq the booking agency they were completely unhelpful, leaving no option but to share a single bed, the two of us being in our late 70s. The following day they offered to refund 30% for the night we stayed and advised us to seek alternative accomodation for the remainder of our stay through booking.com, which we did. They have now sent a refund oh £61.25 rather than the full refund of £160, stating that this is the amount due because of the need to keep back a cleaning fee which forms (an undeclared) part of the accomodation cost, while otherwise refusing to provide a breakdown of how they arrive at the refund due.

Good value foe your money, clean, pleasant stay.

The room was very clean, well-maintained, and the bed was comfortable. It offered great value compared to other hotels in the area.

The only issue we had was finding the location, as Google Maps kept directing us elsewhere. It would be helpful if the listing included photos of the building exterior so first-time visitors can recognise it more easily, and if the name of the building were also displayed on the back for easier identification.

Excellent

Wow the building has just opened so 8 was one of the first guests there on 1st Oct. The security is excellent and you cannot get in without key card which gives access to main door, lifts and bedroom door. The shared kitchen is very spacious and has fridge, freezer, microwave, oven and hob. Dishwasher. Only thing missing was a tea towel lol. Room was good with double bed and built in wardrobes. En suite with shower and toilet was great too. The building is a tower block which is also student accommodation on higher floors. Within walking distance from city centre or if you want a bus there is a bus stop on the main road. 10/10 I will be back
