Villa Il Padule

This villa is exactly what you picture when you think of the Tuscan Hillside. It’s far enough away from the hustle and bustle and busy tourist attractions of Florence and a relaxing piece of Tuscan paradise with your own private pool and a beautiful backdrop overlooking all of the beautiful Florentine Hills. Far enough away from the city center, but close enough to walk to some truly authentic Tuscan restaurants, a grocery store and beautiful scenery. You won’t miss the busy tourist centric areas and you’ll enjoy some peace and quiet. The breakfast included was beautifully done, homemade fresh, and delivered with the utmost attention from the two hosts.

Sometimes the Lawrence buses are less than punctual. Just be sure to give yourself lots of time.

Everything the owner was amazing

They could have made sure there toiletries were filled before every guest !

The villa is easily accessible and conveniently located outside of but close to Florence. Now that there's a ZTL (limited traffic area) encompassing the city centre, staying outside Florence is much easier and convenient. There's a village nearby, too - you can get the bus into Florence (around 25 minutes) from there. The owners are lovely - warm and welcoming, and happy to regale you with anecdotes about the property. The breakfast is amazing (and offered at no extra price). We also loved having a very good-sized apartment all to ourselves, and enjoyed being independent while also enjoying what the villa has to offer.

All things considered, the bed could be more comfortable and the garden more looked after. Unfortunately (and this has nothing to do with the villa itself), there's a restaurant nearby playing loud music well into the night. The owners said they've already tried to solve the issue but the restaurant won't hear it. If you close your windows and turn on the AC, you'll be fine. Otherwise, it may be safer to bring earplugs.

Great breakfast and good location if you have a car

Some of the pool furniture was broken. It was hot (36 C) but this is normal for Florence in the summer. The air conditioner was on the entire time and although warm in the room it managed to keep the temperature comfortable.
