It had amenities like a washing machine with everything you need to use it, so you didn’t need to buy anything, and it was spacious, unlike Tokyo where the stays are super small. Also it was near the main station.

As for stuff that is actually “improvable”, it should have a way to “separate” the second floor from the first one (maybe a curtain or plastic door) because it makes it impossible for the air con to heat both the second and first floor. During my stay it was cold, but I didn’t want to have the air con pointing at me directly, now it was bearable but I would imagine colder months are not so good. Also the bed was not the best to say the least, too soft so you feel the frame maybe change it.

Most comfortable bed in Japan! 😅❤️ All that walking, and then sleeping on that bed was heaven. They also have a bike free for use. I used it for my late night 711 runs.

The distance to the station was a bit of a walk. Although the host recommended a better route and cut it down to about 10 mins.

This room is well suited for the no-frills solo traveler. It has all the amenities, including a washing machine, and is extremely well located (10min walk to Matsumoto JR station). It was very clean and tidy, the host was responsive and check in was easy. Furthermore, there were free bikes to take out for the day (nothing fancy but worked well for Matsumoto city).

The biggest downside is, that the building is somewhat old and right next to the train line. When the train passes by, the building literally shakes. Luckily the last train goes around 11pm but the first ones start up around 6ish. So you need to be a good sleeper to not notice.
