Welcome to this charming and partially renovated cottage located on owners peaceful farm just outside the coastal town of Mönsterås in the heart of Småland. Surrounded by forest and nature, this tranquil setting is perfect for picking berries and mushrooms in season, and you might even spot grazing cows in the nearby meadows.
The cottage offers a warm and welcoming kitchen equipped with a stove, microwave, fridge/freezer, and dishwasher. The recently renovated bathroom features a shower, toilet, and washing machine. The spacious living room is furnished with a dining area and a comfortable sofa set – perfect for relaxing evenings. Upstairs, you’ll find two cozy bedrooms: one with a double bed and the other with two single beds, ideal for families or small groups.
Discover Mönsterås and the surroundings
There’s plenty to explore in the area. Visit the ruins of Kronobäck Monastery or the local heritage museum, which houses Sweden’s most complete historic pharmacy and a beautiful medicinal herb garden. On Tuesday evenings during summer, classic car exhibitions attract enthusiasts from near and far. Don’t miss the Kevershäll viewpoint, offering breathtaking views of Mönsterås and even across the sea to the island of Öland.
In central Mönsterås, you can enjoy a pleasant stroll among charming shops and cafés. The town also hosts a large international blues festival every summer. A short drive takes you to the picturesque old trading village of Pataholm, or to Oknö Camping – a popular destination offering a sandy beach, restaurant, mini-golf, boat rentals, a playground, and a small convenience store.
For longer day trips, take the ferry from Oskarshamn to Byxelkrok on northern Öland, or visit the beautiful city of Kalmar with its historic old town and majestic Kalmar Castle. You can also cross the bridge to Öland, the island of sun and wind, known for its stunning beaches and unique nature.
