About this house rental

Welcome to Oknö, Mönsterås and to Seglarvägen 18, which is just a 30 min drive from Kalmar and Oskarshamn in the south-east of Sweden. The house has 3 bedrooms (one king and two twin bedrooms), a fully equipped kitchen (Dishwasher, washing machine, fridge/freezer) and living/dining room areas. There is also an outdoor terrace with furniture and a BBQ. Nestled by the Baltic Sea and close to popular swimming areas, as well as a tennis court, mini-golf and a convenience store. Oknö Island is the perfect location for a relaxing family vacation... Welcome!

Children: Children are welcome. We also have a cot and high chair available for infants. The garden is not surrunded by fench so adult supervision required. Please note the roads are limited used around the area. Playground close by with swings etc.

No Smoking inside - No Animals: In the interests of our non smoking guests, smoking inside the house is forbidden. Please use the outside terrace or garden. Animals are not allowed due to allergy!

The house makes you feel at home. It is a very well-equipped, spacious and cosy. We loved to spend the evenings in the conservatory. The garden and the surrounding is perfect for anybody who likes to relax, to swim and to hike. We can definitely recommend this accomadation. We will come back, for sure.

The perfect vacation rental and location for exploring the area around Okno. You can relax on the deck and enjoy the beauty of the area, get for walking, swimming, bike riding. The house is well equipped and if you enjoy cooking you have every thing you need in the kitchen. It was a very relaxing, quiet stay. Would highly recommend this vacation house.

Det var välstädat och fräscht . Väl utrustat, på köksutrustning. Badrums och disk handdukar var framhändda samt tvål och disnedel stod framtaget, vilket kändes Välkomnsnde .Bortplockat i garderober och badrumsskåp också bra , om man ville ställa in egna saker. Tänk på att varmvattnet tar slut om det får flöda på , men kommer snabbt tillbaka . Duschtemp bland svårintälld. Trevlig uteplats , på den inglasade verandan . Mysigt med öppen spis , som vi använde flitigt . Huset gav ett Välkomnande intryck i sin helhet.

We're relly enjoyed our stay here on Ökno Island. The house was well equipped, clean and everything was lovely arranged. Everything was in a good shape. The house is located in a peacfull and silent place. Everything was like discripted in the Internet. I think this was not our last stay here. Thanks a lot The Gensch-Family from Germany

What a nice and comfy home! Clean and thougtfully decorated and with a perfectly well-equipped kitchen. Located on a small island with small secluded seaside areas to take a swim without a crowd watching you. A lot of sights are within one hours drive. Fast and friendly contact via email and phone with prompt response to any questions or problems. Thanks for a great holiday!

Wonderful location and home

The location of the house is great and close to water on all sides. The house is very well equipped and the owner has thought of almost everything to make the stay in Oknoe comfortable. The owner is also great at his customer service skills and responded to our emails or in person quickly. Would definitely recommend this property to anyone who is looking for a relaxing holiday on this beautiful island. Also very suitable for families with small children, our two year old had a great time in the large gardens surrounding the house or taking the short walk to the water.

We - as a family of 5 - had wonderful days in the house. We found the house well equipped and clean. The sorroundings are fine - close to the beach and situated in a peacefull area. Everything in the agreement was handled fine and satifying.

An excellent vacation home

Okno is a wonderful, peaceful area. The description of the house along with the ammenities was described accurately. The property is well maintained. It is a fully equipped summer cottage with everything you would need to be comfortable. The owner is very flexible and worked with us and made us feel very much at home. There are bicycles available, a beautiful deck and furniture for relaxing and enjoying time with family and friends. It is a perfect place to spend your vacation if you enjoy walking, swimming (its a short walk to the water) or just enjoying nature. There is much to see and do around Okno and the surrounding area. The owner provides a lot of tourist information and history of the area so you have an idea what is available. There are great areas around Okno for exploring, a lot of Viking history in the area, and nearby Oland Island and Kalmar Castle. We enjoyed another wonderful month in Okno and look forward to returning soon. We highly recommend this summer cottage to anyone.

Perfect house on Oknö for families and/or friends, the pictures should be updated, because it now got even a new very very nice winter garden on top of all. The house is clean and very well equipped with everything you need. The contact to the landlord was very nice, I appreciate the professional setup for renting: - perfect house description - perfect equipment - perfect "user manual" for the house - perfect everything. Thank you very much, we can only recommend Seglarvägen 18!!!

What a great place to spend a relaxing time with family and friends on Okno. This is our second visit to this cottage and look forward to returning. It is the best equipped and well cared for vacation cottage we have stayed in. You will feel like you are at home. The rooms are spacious, beds are extremely comfortable and the stuga was a huge success for extra sleeping area. It is the perfect cottage for a relaxing vacation!!! There is plently of activity for all ages, swimming in the Baltic (short walk from the house), playground for the kids, enjoyed riding the bikes that were provided, and exploring the surrounding areas. The owner provided excellent service and we would highly recommend this vacation cottage.

We loved the cottage!! It was a great location for us in a very beautiful area of Sweden. The cottage was very spacious, and the perfect amount of room for 5 women. We enjoyed the quick stroll down to the Baltic and relaxed every evening around the fireplace with a glass of wine. The cottage kitchen was well equipped and grocery shopping was only minutes away by car. Very clean, tidy and well cared for summer home.

wonderful week on Okno

We spent the first week of september here and sun shone 6 days out of 7. Warm enough to sit out but I wore a wet suit for swimming. Okno is a small wooded island with wooden houses along forest type roads and its coastline is easily accessible with swimming bays and small harbours. The house is great, places to sit inside, on covered porch and outside, very comfortable and better equipped than my own home. We used the 2 bikes provided to visit the nearby town of Monsteras and to explore nearby coastline, easy cycling - cycle lanes, quiet roads and flatish. The owner provided excellent service and I would recommend this property unreservedly.

We came from New Zealand to explore ancestral connections near Högsby. The cottage had everything and more than we needed. A car is essential for this area. We shopped in the nearby delightful village of Mönsterås. They have a very helpful Tourist Information Centre and a library with free internet. The cottage is tastefully decorated and very well equiped. We appreciated the bikes to explore this lovely island. Loved watching the squirrels and birds from the sunroom. The friendly owner visited. She exceeded expectations in helping us with our family research.

We rented this house in August in 2009 it is really beautiful and clean and we had the most relaxed vacation you can imagin. In the house is all you need, you name it and it is there. Also very important is that the beds are (new) boxsprings and you have a good sleep on it. The hospitallity is great, you can use all there is and when you use something, you refil it. All the furniture is very good. The Nature is absolutly beautiful and you have squarels and rabbits in the garden. Nearby there (walking 3 minutes) is a playground for children very clean and all playthings are new-looking. And of course the water is nearby to have a swim. We would recommend this property to everybody, a compliment to the owner.
