30 Lovelace Road was refurbished for one job: giving a working crew a house that runs properly. White, bright, freshly done, and laid out so six people can live alongside each other without getting under each other's feet. Everyone gets their own room, their own space to sort the paperwork and a shower when they want one. It looks like somewhere you'd choose, not somewhere you've been put.

From arrival onwards, it's up to you. Some crews we never hear from beyond a thank you at the end; others message every other day. Either is fine. Someone local from the Ginger & Gold team will answer if anything needs sorting, not a call centre. We're a Norwich-based family-run business managing 45 properties across Norfolk, seven years in and thousands of working guests hosted. We know what a crew needs: a house that works, a quick answer when something doesn't, and no drama.

Eaton is a settled residential suburb with a low crime rate. It's quiet at night and that's the point.

What matters for a working stay:

Co-op Daily, takeaways and a barber on Lovelace Road itself, a couple of minutes on foot
Norwich Research Park, the University of East Anglia and the Norfolk and Norwich University Hospital all close by, handy for anyone contracting on the science, education or healthcare sites
Eaton Park, 80 acres of open space with a café, sports courts and a boating pond, a short walk for a run or a breather after work
Larger supermarkets and retail parks within a 10 minute drive for the big weekly shop

Guests have the whole house: bedrooms, all shower rooms and WCs, kitchen, sitting area and garden. Check-in is self-service via a keybox at the property; the code is emailed once the agreement is signed and ID received, so you can arrive whenever the day's work finishes. Parking is free on the street outside the house and along the road, with room for vans. There is always plenty.

The street is quiet, tree-lined and residential. Nothing much happens on it, which is exactly what you want after a long day on site.

Every bedroom has a double bed, hotel-quality linen and towels, proper storage for your gear, a side table and lamp, and Venetian blinds so you can actually sleep in summer. Most rooms also have a desk and chair, so the timesheets, quotes and evening calls home have somewhere to happen that isn't the edge of the bed.

Water pressure is good in every shower, which matters more than people admit.

Superfast Wi-Fi runs through the whole house. Six phones, a couple of laptops and the football on the telly at once is no problem.

By car: the A11 is around 10 mins away for Wymondham, Thetford and Cambridge; the A47 similar for Great Yarmouth, Dereham and King's Lynn, both without crossing the city centre.

By bus: regular services from the nearby main roads run directly to the university, the hospital and Norwich city centre.

On foot or for a day off: Norwich city centre is roughly 45 mins on foot or 7 mins by car.

Booked as a whole house for up to six guests, one per bedroom.

A short digitally signed booking agreement (via Signable) and photo ID are required before arrival.

House rules: no smoking or vaping indoors (the garden is fine), no pets, no parties or extra visitors overnight. Quiet hours are 9pm to 8am on weekdays and 11pm to 8am at weekends, out of respect for the neighbours.

Bins, recycling and anything house-specific are in the digital house manual sent before you arrive.

There is no lounge at this property, so please be aware when booking. The property suits contractors or teams who want their own space in their own bedroom, more than leisure guests who are looking to all sit together for a leisure stay.
