The staff is fabulous and you couldn’t have a more convenient location. The rooms are sufficient and clean for the most part but rather spartan.

Both receptionists, Clarissa and Nicole, were exceptionally helpful. Other than this, I struggle to find anything positive about this hotel for the following reasons: The bathroom was far too small and grubby. Placing the new toilet roll on top of the toilet brush is not anyone’s idea of standard sanitation. The toiletries provided included shower gel and body lotion but no shampoo. The shower pressure was not stable and the wall mounted hairdryer did not feel safe to use. The bathroom sink was blocked. Both girls doubled as receptionist and waiting staff at breakfast, likely to lead to logistic issues and delays if you have an early train to catch needing to check out at breakfast time. The hotel details on Expedia indicated a room safe was available but it turned out that none of the rooms had electronic safe. Unfortunately, there was no safe deposit box in reception either. A discussion with the owner based on what we had booed on Expedia and what we were getting, wasted a good half hour.It was disappointing to be told by the owner that she was not responsible for what was stated on Expedia and that given our expectations perhaps we should have considered staying elsewhere. This did not give me a perception of the owner being service oriented and further discussions would have been fruitless. Overall, and despite the two young ladies’ efforts, I would not stay here again and the price of 126 euro per night was not justified for what the hotel is offering.

The Hotel Broletto is a charming hotel in the heart of Mantua, only steps away from the historic sites and museums. The staff is very friendly and helpful, including calling me when my train delayed my arrival. They serve a very nice breakfast with homemade muffins and cakes, which were all tasty. My room was very spacious and comfortable.

With a great location in the inner city and a quite friendly staff, that seemed prepared as we arrived, we felt quite welcome from the start. Parking is restricted in the inner city, but the hotel could provide us with a parking permit for a reasonable price and advice us an alternative parking from the one in front of the hotel, as next day Thursday would be a market day and parking space had to be freed up by 6AM. Breakfast was quite nice and cosy, as the hotel is not big, but we count this to the positive side. There is elevator, but it is worth noting, that you have to take half a flight of stairs to get to it, due to the quaint old architecture. The room was not big, but all we needed, clean and tidy.

We had the large, I think, "family" room with a king-sized bed and a small couch, which was probably a sleep sofa. All was clean and attractive though a little short on amenities -- not enough toilet paper, no tissues, just 3 tea bags, etc. Location was perfect - right in the center of town. Breakfast was really good and plentiful. Personnel were friendly and helpful.

One of the nicest hotels ever. Excellent location in the heart of the medieval city. Reception and staff are superb. The room was charming and provided every facility and toiletry possible. The breakfast room and food were exquisite. I shall definitely stay again, for longer.

Retired, travel a lot and normally stay at 4 or 5 star hotels. Booked this 3 star Mantova hotel as it was the only one available, in the old city core, for the past weekend (Dec. 17-18) - last city of my Ferrara, Rimini, Modena, Parma Reggio-Emilia tour (although Mantova in Lombardia). First night I was in one of their small suites on 2nd floor (all I could book at the time). Very, very functional suite for its size but too small for me especially in the bathroom. Next day, at little cost, I was able to upgrade to their queen sized bed suite (#302) and was more than pleased with the room. It was very spacious especially in the bathroom featuring a very large walk-in shower and a sizable side table next to the sink for shaving items and the like. The suite was well heated (as was the other) - important as that weekend was very cold. The beds were comfortable. #302 had plenty of storage room for clothing including an armoire. I had 2 very restful nights of sleep at this hotel - more than I can say for some of the other 4 star hotels I stayed at on this trip. Also, the Wi-Fi was very good at this hotel with plenty of outlets (#302) for my smartphone charger. They have an elevator, old style yet large enough for some luggage and a couple of people. I took the marble stairs instead as I liked the walk.

We enjoyed staying at this hotel at the very end of August 2016. The staff was very friendly and helpful. Gave us excellent suggestions for eating places.The location was perfect, close to Palazzo Ducale and all major attractions. Our room was very clean and well maintained. Our only suggestions would be to add English language channels for TV. ( at least one!). However, Wi Fi worked very well, so overall that was not a problem. Highly recommend this hotel to other visitors.

We stayed 3 nights and were very pleased with our choice. Staff were very helpful and courteous at all times. The location is perfect - right in the historic centre of Mantua about two minutes stroll from the Ducal Palace and very convenient for good bars and restaurants. Yet our room (3rd floor) was very quiet.

Less than 2 minutes from the best gelateria, very good restaurants and the cluster of main piazzas. We did Mantova within 2 days including 2 hour boat ride on lake. Would like to go again, see Sant'Andrea without scaffolding.

This is a delightful little hotel centrally, and excellently, located in Mantua. Very close to the Main Piazza and the Ducale Palace, it the perfect place to stay in old Mantua. Charming staff, family operated, it provided great access to Mantua. It is a three star hotel and one must keep that in mind when booking. But if you are only in Mantova for one or two nights I would strongly suggest staying here.
