Outrageous house owner

Nothing, as the owner had forgotten that we had booked the house.

The owner shouldn't be allowed to rent his property on any platform. He didn't respond to my messages prior to our arrival , but he had taken our payment.We arrived at the house still not knowing how we were going to enter the property. Nobody was there and still no answers to my texts , emails and phone calls. The owner eventually answered our calls and told us that he didn't realise that he had a booking that day. We had a two night booking and all payments had been taken. Instead of being apologetic and helpful he was rude and extremely unhelpful. It was late in the day, we had travelled for hours to get there and we had no where to stay. We were a group of six people .The owner just wanted to cancel on us and leave us stranded. Thankfully booking com personnel were helpful and we were able to find an alternative place, which was so much nicer than Access Beach house, which was a complete disappointment. The outside of the house was very run down and unkempt and the place was much smaller than advertised. . The stress that we suffered before finding alternative accommodation was horrible , and the stress was made so much worse because of the terrible attitude of the property owner. His actions and attitude were outrageous!!

Basic but clean. Would stay again as inexpensive.

The house was clean, a great space and an excellent location. Towels and bedding provided, parking for 2 cars (3 at a push) on driveway, but public parking also right outside the property. It was basic, and not the most well kept of places, but good enough for a night away at a very reasonable price. Would stay again. Great for a large group, lots of beds and space. The owners were on the end of the phone if and when we needed them.

Rather untidy gardens. Random dumped van, caeavan, and small JCB in front yard.

It was okay, some things could be better but for the price it was worth it and didn’t really affect our stay too much.

The beds were very comfortable and the access to the fridge freezer was helpful

The oven wouldn’t work it kept blowing a fuse, we meant me wasted quite a lot of food. A used eye mask was left under a bed, washing left in the machine.

Unsafe and unhygienic

It was cheap, however,the facilities were not up to a minimum level of cleanliness and safety

Old food left in the fridge. Fridge and oven dirty. No clean towels,dirty towels left in the washing machine.stained bedding,broken bed frames.No heating,it was broken. Oven kept fusing and caused the fuse box to spark,oven eventually stopped working half way through cooking our food. Bathroom door locked itself and could not be opened.Main external door handle was broken and could not be locked from the inside.minimal crockery which was dirty and needed washing before it could be used.dangerous plugs on the portable heaters that were provided when we complained about the heating. Curtains would not close completely

Recommend

We all loved the property, including all the available equipment, and felt like home. We also loved the locations as it was convenient. It was peaceful without any disturbance or interference. I would recommend this place for stay-cation /vacation

Only down side was that the pillows weren't comfortable enough. Sliding off to edges whilst trying to sleep probably wasn't very good quality. I suggest the agent should upgrade the pillow qualities. The microwave was dirty, which we cleaned to use. Lastly, the main door handle was broken, but we managed to use it anyway.
