Charmant appartement à Vila de Gracia Barcelone

Barcelona is one of our favorite cities. Unfortunately, many people share that opinion, so it is difficult to find affordable accommodations in a good, central location. This apartment is walking distance from Parc Güell, Sagrada Família, La Pedrera and Casa Batlló, in the very lively Gràcia neighborhood. It's a wonderful location for experiencing Barcelona. The apartment itself is comfortable, with two bedrooms and two full bathrooms, and well-working air conditioning (very helpful, as the weather in Barcelona during our stay was not just hot, but also oppressively humid - it felt like the Southeastern US). While we never saw the owners - I don't know if they live locally - they were very responsive to all our questions and extremely helpful and understanding when we had problems with the online check-in system. Our general experience with booking things online in Barcelona is that it can be very frustrating, so having people who care about the customers really makes a difference. Normally, I would have knocked off a point (to a 9) for a narrow bed, but the owners' attitude deserved an 11.

For us - fairly tall and broad-shouldered people who turn a lot while sleeping - the only negative was that no bed was wider than what we in the US call "full-size"; a "queen-size" bed would have been significantly more comfortable. There are two other things that did not bother us at all, but some people should be aware of them. If you have mobility issues, keep in mind that in Spain "second floor" can mean full three flights of stairs, and that's the case in this building. The other is that this lively neighborhood becomes even livelier during the festival week in mid-August, and you'll hear music very late at night. We enjoyed that, but some people might not. (Then again, don't go to Barcelona if you want peace and quiet!)

Amazing apartment in a perfect location! It is close to the metro and public transportation, within walking distance of Park Güell, and just a short ride from Sagrada Família, Casa Batlló, and Casa Milà. The apartment was spotless, beautifully decorated, cozy, and very well equipped with everything we needed. We especially loved the coffee and Nespresso machine—it was the perfect touch to start our mornings. I could happily live there!

Only a few minor suggestions: the mattress in the guest bedroom was a bit too soft for our preference, the handheld shower would be even better with a wall-mounted holder, and carrying luggage up nearly three floors can be challenging since there is no elevator.
