It is exactly what we were looking for: remote, quiet but with enough accommodations, inexpensive. We got there and the key wasnt there (probably locked in by a cleaner or precious visitor), but within 15 mins they had us in another cabin (a slight upgrade with a mini fridge and a beautiful window view, though the table in close proximity from the first would have been nice for all the grilling we did). The quarter were cozy as hell, the rustic construction was clearly a labor of love, and choices were made by someone who cared to make them when these were built.
"Cousin" Greg was nice to chat with, he helped us get our first fire in the pit going when our first attempt seemed thwarted from the slightly damp firewood and also just being a bit rusty on that front.
Sharing the space with the chatty chickens throughout the grounds was extremely novel. Been around a lot of chickens, but these were special. I will not elaborate.
The on-site firewood was convenient and reasonably priced. We grilled some steaks using one of the fire pit grates. It went well. Medium well.
I don't think there was anything we really disliked, just things we thought might be useful to future visitors (which could very well include us again!)
· A little cheap foldout table for cabin three would have been lovely. There were several picnic tables a few steps down in the common area, but setting up for prepping and grilling food was a little tricky, we had to improvise with various surfaces; the guard rail, our cooler, etc. We almost brought one of ours that we use for vending gigs. Oh well. You live and learn.
· A rug inside the cabin would go hard, the floor was pretty cold at night.
· Someone turned the refrigerator all the way up, so it sort of iced a lot of our stuff, including aforementioned steak. If you have a cabin with a mini fridge, make sure you check that dial. Don't freeze your meat!
· If there was one thing, it would be this: the men's facility shower was nice and hot. But my partner used the women's twice and both times it was very cold. First time they thought it was a fluke, but the second time was a bummer. Whatever, they're pretty tough.

None of this would deter us from coming back, mind you. Just make us better prepared next time!

The property was beautiful, there were even goats, chickens and a horse that my partner I got to see. Honorable mention to complimentary tampons/pads, my wife thought it was sweet :)
The wifi barely reached in cabin 1
