Awful, even after a couple of Guinness’!!

Location, that’s the only positive

I am never one to write a bad review, however I do not want anybody else to experience what we have with our stay. Firstly, I was not provided any check in details without requesting these from the owner and then having to provide details via WhatsApp. Secondly, we arrived and the main toilet had cling film around it with a sign saying ‘do not use if broken sorry’. We were not notified of this prior to our stay, and had booked a 3 bedroom apartment with 2 bathrooms for a reason, as 6 adults were staying. The other toilet was in an en-suite, meaning we had to go into somebody’s room whenever we needed the toilet, including in the night. The property did not resolve the issues, despite being told they would. We were informed one toilet is working so it would be fine. Next, the place stank and was unclean, all windows open so was freezing and the window in one bedroom didn’t lock so was always open. The radiators in some rooms didn’t work, the hot water had to be turned on 30 mins before use, the place was generally run down and grubby. Hairs everywhere, in the duvets, showers, sofa etc. I didn’t not think the place had been cleaned and there was dirty wet washing left in the machine. I asked to drop our bags off before and was offered no solution or help other than to use lockers and after all our issues, the owner said we can leave the property (and have nowhere to stay for the night) or get no compensation. He also communicated everything via voice note which seemed unprofessional. Everything felt like it was being held together with sellotape and the owner was no help and rude.

Another accommodation thrown together by a landlord that doesn't care

The location was amazinf

Unfortunately, our stay was extremely disappointing due to the condition of the property. In the first bedroom with the ensuite, the bed was broken and had no proper springs. It was so uncomfortable that two of our group had to sleep on the sofas instead, as the bed was not suitable for use. In the second bedroom, the curtain pole was broken and there was significant mould on the windows, which raised serious hygiene and safety concerns. The third bedroom, which was the largest of the three, was in the worst condition. The windows were heavily covered in mould, which was unacceptable. One of the windows was missing both trickle vents, meaning that from around 5am every morning there was constant heavy road noise that could not be reduced. The windows also did not close properly, making the noise and cold even worse. Several plug sockets were cracked and unsafe to use, with no on/off switches. The radiator was broken (the plug had been pulled off), and a portable wheeled heater was provided instead, but this repeatedly overheated and could not be left on overnight. Combined with the draughty windows, this resulted in very cold, sleepless nights and freezing mornings. The main bathroom also had several issues. The toilet seat did not fit the toilet properly, the extractor fan did not work so moisture could not be removed, and the shower was loose. The edges of the shower were black and appeared not to have been properly cleaned. Photos and videos of all these issues were taken and sent to the host via WhatsApp at their request, but we have received no response. Overall, the condition of the property was far below an acceptable standard, and we would not recommend staying here.

Beliggenhet, det har tre soverom og to små bad.

Etter at vi hadde sjekket inn fikk vi vite at strøm ikke var inkludert! Etter mye om og men la utleier inn nok penger i strømabonnementet slik at vi kunne ha litt varme og lys. Utleier sier han har lært og at dette ikke skal være problem for fremtidige gjester. Anbefaler alle å forsikre seg om dette før de booker. Standarden og renholdet kunne vært bedre.
