A great place to stay when visiting Dublin.

The building is classic and pleasant. It's close to the city center/buses to the everywhere. The staff were very helpful and friendly. Also the options for breakfast were wonderful. Our room was very cozy and private.

A perfect setting for visiting Dublin for the first time or a return trip!

Included breakfast was a bonus! The location is perfect to explore Dublin on foot or by public transportation. The apartments are lovely and have everything one could need, and the staff is wonderful.We had a perfect stay and will return!

Mostly good but the rubbish plumbing in the Mews flats let it down - again.

Breakfast choice is good, although it can get very crowded at peak times. Location is good, although our stay coincided with Dublin Bus making significant changes to their routes. Their App was poor the day before the main changes, and dire on the day. And they did it on a Sunday when there is NO support available. The hotel is of course up a steep hill so less able folks rely 100% on a bus service that is reliable and understandable.

The mews rooms are nice and quiet but poorly equipped for modern expectations. Examples are - no teaspoons, no food bowls of any sort, no wine glasses (although there is a corkscrew so you can drink it out of the bottle), no coffee mugs, no teatowel, no washing up liquid, one worn out second hand pot scourer. Also the plumbing is sloppy and very unprofessional. Hot and cold water in kitchen are the wrong way round, tap is in the workspace and leaks so the workspace gets significantly wet. Very confusingly the supply in the bathroom is the right way round. Sometimes you have to run the shower ENDLESSLY to get the water hot - it was the same when we stayed in the same room a couple of years ago and is no better now. We reported on our first day that the shower tray did not run away but nothing was done so a few days later it caused a flood. We did warn you it would. The trap is filthy and is probably the problem

All inclusive, comfortable stay close to anywhere you’d want to go in Dublin.

The tearoom and pub had excellent food. Breakfast was delightful. The hotel was lovely and our room had plenty of space. Everything was accessible. Great location. We appreciated that we got fresh bottles of water each morning. We would have stayed again when we got back to Dublin, but the rates went up.

The fan helped, but even with the windows open, it got stuffy at night.

The Harry Clarke Mews and the staff of the Castle Hotel were just what we needed to maximize our enjoyment of Dublin and

We liked the idea of having a comfortable ’home base’ from which to go out and see the city and take tours further away and have the wonderful staff who could make recommendations. The breakfast was very good and a good way to start a day of touring.

The mews aren’t directly attached to the hotel, but we were aware of that when we booked, so it wasn’t really a problem.

Hotel with character, staff very friendly, apartment noisy

I stayed in an apartment, it had a great kitchenette and comfortable bed. Breakfast was great, and the restaurant was fab with live music. The hotel was full of character being 300yrs old.

Room 615 was in the car park area, it had a generator nearby and a pile of rubbish in the car park too. The generator constantly made noise and every 30mins the room rattled resulting in limited sleep for 2 nights. I was offered ear plugs after complaining due to being fully booked.

Brilliant location, staff very friendly and polite, comfortable room and bed. Delicious breakfast. Coffee nice and strong.

Just far enough away from the main drag. Lots of room. Great food and authentic live music.

An okay stay

We stayed at Harry Clark Mews, part of the Castle hotel, and had a mixed experience. The apartment was spacious with minimal furnishings and the bed and sofa bed were comfortable. The small kitchen was a nice touch. Breakfast in the main building was very good. Location was convenient, with a bus stop nearby .

This apartment building was at the back alleyway of the hotel. The garbage bins were located right in front of the apartment, which was unsightly and bothersome. Additionally, the view from the windows was not great, overlooking the parking lot and the back of the building.

Not much

We had a room off the alley, it was noisy with staff emptying bottles right under our window. On our first night this was done at 1 am 🤬 We constantly had an issue with the hot water service, there was mould in the shower, the kitchen sink was stained to which I cleaned it myself. I requested a box of tissues but was left a note to say they don’t have any. So many other little things and this place is listed as a 4 star establishment NO WAY!!!!!! This would be a 2 star at best. We did make several complaints and the assistant manager was very understanding and compensated us.

Lobby of the main hotel reeked of smoke. Description mentioned 14 steps, it was actually 2 flights of 14 steps each which was tough with luggage. Mirrors in the room were oddly placed so you couldn’t stand up while looking in them. Booked 2 rooms and only one of them had the coffee/tea setup.

This was advertised as an appartment, its in need of refurbishment, . The cost was ridiculous, the stale look of the inside reminded me of a bedsit from the 70s. The advertisement is totally misleading...a waste of money

Horror hotel- Never again!!!

The worst thing is that the hotel manager Yvonne was neither responsive on site nor on our emails and phone calls answered with these conditions and overpriced prices! We have demanded the money of over 300€ per room the night back - until today no answer. Never again! - in two rooms the shower rods were defective, which fell on the head during showering and one person in the travel group was injured on the head - in room 622 it was extremely hot, so sleeping was not possible despite wide open window + room door - in all three rooms the stench of the drain was unbearable and the smell was completely rotten. Two of the group complained of breathing problems and headaches the next morning - Furthermore, loud door slamming made sleep impossible, due in part to the thin walls in the house - Also, the wifi didn't work despite connection (since no internet connection) - The silicone joints in the bathroom were moldy everywhere (see pictures attached)

Good size self catering apartment which could have been so much better.

Although self catering we had breakfast included which the hotel says was "free" so can't be excluded. As we all know there is no such thing, it's just included in the room price. The breakfast was 'ordinary and we would have preferred to use our own kitchen, which we had paid for and benefited from a better priced room. The internet connection at the mews was very poor, constantly dropping out. Our complaints were looked into but lack of investment into good bandwidth and coverage was clearly the problem not a technical hitch. The apartment was very dark, with a lack of lighting and poor choice of wall colour. Non working kitchen hob light didn't help even after this was fixed. The room needed more lighting options and the decor brightened up. The furnishings in the apartment were basic and poor, a pull out bed doubled as a Sofer, an undersized tv for the room size and a lack of occasional furnishings was poor for the price. Overall very poor and I wouldn't recommend paying the extra for a self catering apartment.

We had everything we needed and contributed to a fun weekend.

Everything was fine. Our rooms were in a separate block - which we expected. Filling breakfast. Luggage storage before we booked in and after we booked out was really useful.

The place is a little eccentric, this sometimes seems fun, but at other times can be annoying. Some staff were good at their jobs, some not so good, which is OK if you feel they are still learning, but not so acceptable if you feel they are in more senior positions. This is not the place for you if you like your fried egg on the runny side!

I loved the staff, the variety of breakfasts, how quiet the Mews are, the basement pub with comfortable sofas and a FIREPLACE!! We were really blown away.
