Clean property, well furnished, good air conditioning, spacious, good location in terms of distance from city centre

Area maybe didn’t feel very safe at night but to be honest wasn’t much of an issue we were able to get the 49 bus to the city centre so we didn’t have to walk about very much.

Apenas das escadas já que o apartamento está localizado no 2° andar e subir e descer 4 lances de escada com mala pesada não é agradável, mas infelizmente é a maioria dos lugares por Marselha.

Location: Unfortunately, the area felt like one of the least pleasant parts of Marseille, and we didn’t feel particularly safe there. For us, however, the location was convenient as we had business at La Friche, which was one of the main reasons we chose the apartment. Host: We found it quite frustrating that the host continued to communicate exclusively in French despite knowing that we were international guests. We feel that making an effort to communicate in a language both sides can understand is simply a matter of courtesy and respect. The apartment itself appears to have been recently renovated, and everything is quite new, but the furnishings and equipment feel very basic and inexpensive. We also had to ask for extra towels. Only one towel per guest was provided for a one-week stay, which is simply not enough: it effectively means using the same towel for your face and for the rest of your body, including intimate areas. The bedding was another issue. There was no full set of bed linen: only a fitted bottom sheet and the duvet, with no top sheet between the guest and the duvet. The host assured us that the duvets are washed after every stay, but ultimately this becomes a matter of trust. Personally, for reasons of hygiene, we would have felt much more comfortable with a complete set of bed linen. We extended our stay by one night and were charged an additional €150, paid in cash. This was around €50 more than the nightly rate of our original booking. Unfortunately, changing the reservation dates through the app was not possible for this property, so we had little choice if we wanted to stay the extra night. At €150 per night, however, the value for money becomes particularly difficult to justify, especially considering that rooms in four-star hotels in much more desirable areas of Marseille, such as the Corniche, can be found at a comparable rate.
