TOMALCO INN NAKANO 1 4F Flat 2 Bath 13min to Shinjuku from Honancho

I stayed for almost a week and the apartment has indeed everything you need: from local area guides, to adapters/cables and sports equipment. Bed is spacious and comfortable and the apartment offers an additional room which is quite handy if you'd like to keep your luggage open or have dinner indoor but not necessarily next to the bed. Bathrooms are equally equipped with bath tub and drying room (which is a game changer especially in winter). I personally don't agree with the reviews stating that the apartment is far away from the centre or distant from the metro. It's indeed a 10-15 walk to Honancho or Sasazuka stations, but it's a nice walk through quiet residential streets, that enable you to experience a more authentic tokyo, far from the touristic side. As a female traveller I felt safe to walk around. I could travel with the metro only on my first day and the trip to Shinjuku is only 20 min, Shimokitazawa is 30min on foot to reach. But what stood out the most is the hospitality of Hiromi and her team. Unfortunately I injured myself on my first night and they have been extremely supportive, from translating with the emergency doctors to bringing me groceries and booking transfers when needed. I could not thank them more, as especially the language can be a barrier in Japan and they really did their best to help me out in this uncomfortable and saddening situation. Besides that, the team is available 24/7 via chat and respond very fast to any request (this I noticed also in the time prior to my arrival in tokyo). I will definitely recommend this place to family and friends, and book it again next time I will come back to Tokyo. :)

There are indeed some stairs to climb up. IIt's not mount Fuji and stairs are not too steep but if you have a oversize and/or heavy luggage it can be a bit tricky. Without big luggage is definitely not a problem.

駅から少し距離がありましたが、それ以外はすべて素晴らしく、とても満足できる滞在でした。 特に印象的だったのは、チェックアウト後に忘れ物をしてしまった際のオーナーさんの対応です。こちらが後から連絡したにもかかわらず、とても親切かつ迅速に対応してくださり、忘れ物の受け取り方法についても分かりやすく案内してくださいました。さらに、こちらからお願いした内容にも快く応じてくださり、終始丁寧で誠実な対応にとても好感を持ちました。 安心して宿泊できる素晴らしい宿だと思います。東京を訪れる際には、ぜひまた利用したいです。 The only minor downside was that the location was a little farther from the nearest station than I would have preferred. Other than that, everything was excellent, and I was very satisfied with my stay. I also accidentally left one of my belongings behind after checking out. When I contacted the host, they responded promptly and professionally without any hesitation. They clearly explained how I could retrieve my item and were very accommodating, even when I made a special request. Their kindness and willingness to help left a great impression on me. I would definitely stay here again the next time I visit Tokyo. Highly recommended!

駅から徒歩10～15分ほどで、大きな荷物を持って移動する場合は少し距離を感じるかもしれません。その点だけが少し気になりました。それ以外は特に気になる点はなく、お部屋は清潔で快適に過ごすことができました。 The only minor downside was the location. It's about a 10–15 minute walk from the nearest station, which felt a little far when carrying large luggage. Other than that, everything was excellent. The accommodation was clean, comfortable, and well-equipped, and I had a very enjoyable stay.

とても綺麗なお部屋で、2部屋あったので大人２人子供２人でしたが、とても快適に過ごすことができました。一人は乳児でしたが、赤ちゃんでも安心して過ごせるお部屋で、事前に色々と必要なものも揃えてくださっていたので、とても助かりました。途中で中間清掃をして頂けたり、ゴミの回収もしてくださったのも大変ありがたかったです。チェックイン時、オーナーのHiromiさんがお部屋に手書きのお手紙とプレゼントを用意してくださったり、滞在中お電話で確認くださったり、他にも色々と大変親切にしていただき、細やかな対応がとても嬉しかったです。安心してとても良い時間を過ごすことができました。

特にありませんでした。

Very clean. Very well maintained place. Very responsive host.

No lift/elevator. Not that I did not like it because I didn’t mind but if you have big luggages, you will need to haul your things up.
