This is a most appealing place to stay if hiking in this area and the host is very kind and flexible. Everything is clean and comfortable with a bar just downstairs for coffee. The big consideration is that the buses are unreliable, finish early, and there are no taxis available in the area. I wheeled a large suitcase uphill for 45 minutes before a local heading home picked me up for the very steep final climb to the village. Similarly because of a bus timing problem I had to wheel it all the way down to Carrara to catch my train out, which I then missed anyway because of a traffic jam in the town. So consider a car essential if you have any luggage other than a backpack and want comfort. But the property and area are lovely and very off the tourist track.

Nothing negative to report about the property or host. Only the transportation issues.
