The Asiki Sebatu

Abbiamo trascorso un soggiorno davvero meraviglioso. La struttura è bellissima e la nostra camera era super ampia, curata nei minimi dettagli e dotata di un bagno completo di qualsiasi kit di cortesia. Fantastica sia la vasca con acqua calda, sia la doccia separata, perfettamente funzionante. La piscina a sfioro è fantastica: molto soleggiata la mattina e con una vista incredibile sulla risaia privata della struttura! Un valore aggiunto è stato il ristorante: servono la colazione in camera e il cibo è molto buono, tanto che abbiamo scelto di pranzare e cenare lì quasi tutti i giorni. La struttura è immersa nelle risaie. Vale assolutamente la pena posare il motorino e perdersi a piedi tra le risaie circostanti. È la meta ideale per chi cerca il massimo del relax lontano dal caos, pur rimanendo in una posizione comodissima (a circa 15 minuti da Tegalalang e mezz'ora dal centro di Ubud).

Tutto perfetto

Zelfs vijf weken was voor ons niet genoeg. Mijn vriendin en ik reizen fulltime de wereld rond en waren toe aan een plek die echt als thuis zou voelen. We boekten deze villa voor vijf weken. Dat blijft altijd een beetje een gok, omdat je maar moet hopen dat een accommodatie net zo mooi is als op de foto’s en in de reviews. Deze villa maakte al onze verwachtingen meer dan waar. De villa is werkelijk prachtig. Je hebt alle ruimte, het zwembad zorgt voor heerlijke verkoeling en vanuit de villa kijk je uit over de rijstvelden. Alles voelt ruim en open. Het bijbehorende café en restaurant serveert ontzettend lekkere gerechten. De kaart is uitgebreid en afwisselend genoeg, waardoor het eten ons zelfs na vijf weken nog niet verveelde. Misschien nog wel belangrijker is het personeel. Iedereen staat altijd voor je klaar en op verzoek wordt het ontbijt ’s ochtends zelfs bij het zwembad geserveerd. Gede, de eigenaar, doet er alles aan om je thuis te laten voelen. Juist doordat we hier zo lang verbleven, hebben we gemerkt hoe waardevol die persoonlijke aandacht is. Gede heeft ons ook betrokken bij belangrijke ceremonies in het dorp, waar we een van de weinige westerse bezoekers waren. Dat maakte ons verblijf in Sebatu extra bijzonder en gaf ons de kans om een kant van Bali te ervaren die veel toeristen nooit te zien krijgen. Wil je een authentieker Bali ervaren, met voldoende restaurants en voorzieningen in de buurt, maar zonder dat de omgeving al is overspoeld door toeristen, dan moet je hier zijn. Sebatu is duidelijk in opkomst, dus we zijn benieuwd hoe het hier over een paar jaar zal zijn. Voor nu is dit voor ons zonder twijfel de fijnste plek om op Bali te verblijven. Al snel besloten we dat zelfs vijf weken niet genoeg waren. Na een week ergens anders te hebben verbleven, keren we terug om opnieuw bijna een maand in de villa te wonen. Gede denkt altijd met je mee en helpt waar hij kan. Toen we ziek waren, hielp hij ons met het regelen van een dokter.

Villa was well made & decorated. Comfy bed, nice bathroom with outdoor bathtub, blockout curtains on everything except bathroom door (glass door). Food was great & it's a popular Cafe as there isn't anywhere else in close proximity to eat. Views of the rice paddies straight in front of cafe. Locals are friendly

Outdoor security light on all night in outdoor bath area shone through glass bathroom door into bedroom. Couldn't have the bedroom fully dark to sleep. It is a remote location so be aware there is nothing around here (which we liked)

I don't know where to start! We stayed here for a full week and everything was superb! We enjoyed breakfast overlooking the rice fields. Even from our room, the views were amazing. Although the fields had no rice during our stay, the scenery was beautiful and the area is very peaceful. The location is good, only 15–20 minutes from most attractions (on the way to Ubud, north and east) and ~20 minutes from Ubud center, depending on traffic could be less. You pass through the beautiful Tegallalang Rice Terraces everytime you go south, so don't worry to visit multiple times if you have time. It's farther from western attractions like Jatiluwih Rice Terraces and Pura Ulun Danu Bratan, but you can easily hire a private driver (2h to 2h30). Staff helps you renting private car service and we did this for Jatiluwih and also for our transfer to the next hotel, including a few sightseeing stops between the transfer. We rented a scooter through the villa and used it every day. The roads were in good condition, making it easy to explore (please note this opinion is from car and motorcycle licenced driver - myself). We highly recommend renting a scooter in advance, especially for couples. We arrived after check-in hours, and the owner was waiting with a refreshing welcome drink. The villa was spotless, modern, and well maintained. The food, drinks, and extra services were excellent. At night, we loved the sounds of nature. Once the doors were closed, the room was very quiet, with only a little noise in the bathroom by night, but just close the bathroom door and you sleep like a baby with no noise. We were hoping to see geckos, but surprisingly didn't spot a single one! (bad luck as we wanted to see). Instead, we met the villa friendly Bengal cat, who sometimes visited our villa to play. We loved that! Did i already mention the pool so you could refresh at night...? :D We would happily come back and stay even longer.

I would have to be extremely picky to find any flaws, and I actually am a bit... and the truth is me and my wife loved everything!
