Another gem of a property well located on the east of Dartmoor to explore the moor, the surrounding villages, towns and south coast. We stayed in the shoemaker annex and found it and the whole village really relaxing. It is spacious and well equipped. The bed was very comfy, the dining/living area large and outside are two large loungers where we read most afternoons/late evenings. Plenty of parking. Heather is very friendly and accommodating and the perfect host. It is set overlooking a wonderful valley with a large forest and many circular walks ranging from 45 minutes to three hours dependent on your abilities. We walked 2 and got some amazing pictures. The locals are also friendly and we ate out twice at the Palk Arms where the atmosphere is relaxing and the food delicious. Wednesday night is quiz night...see if you can better last! We would recommend booking. We also visited Haytor Tor (great views of the area and coast), Widdecombe (great pub and cafe), Salcombe and Dartmouth (no more than 1 hour from the cottage on the coast), Bovey Tracey (has a nice Inde bookshop), Totnes, Ashburton & Moretonhampstead (nice shops). Overall however this was intended for us to be a relaxing take it easy holiday and we found ourselves more and more drawn back to Hennock and its quite peaceful ways. Would definitely recommend.

Beautiful location, nice and secluded, space for parking and lovely trails for taking the dog for a walk. Beautiful kitchen, lovely bed, nice living space to relax.
