The staff, food, amenities, and grounds were amazing. Everyday they had a schedule of things going on. The games and shows are family friendly. The staff were all friendly and helpful (basic Spanish is encouraged). If you don’t book excursions ahead of time, they have people that will help you book on property. Also, bring a lot of cash to tip housekeeping and servers.

The layout of the property can be confusing. The buildings are numbered out of order. Also, because of the humidity our room smelled of mold/mildew and needed to be aired out daily. This also made the floors slippery, the bedding felt damp, and our clothing felt damp. The plumbing smelled very backed up which also contributed to the smell of the room. The door locks also gets stuck at times so you have to pry the latch out in order to lock the door. Overall the rooms could use a major upgrade/renovation to match the essence of the rest of the hotel and the sister properties next door.

Love love love the staff!!! Started strong with Ivan at the front desk, then Antonio and Nelfy at Colonial Restaurant, Isabelle, and her friend from Haiti, who assisted with translation and ofc George (Mr Chocolate the dance/fitness instructor). The food was great, our rooms were always well cleaned and decorated. Will definitely return!!

The walk!!!! Lol. I suggest a scooter rental to get around the resort. I didnt like the smell of the pool towels

El check-in fue bastante rápido y organizado; nos entregaron las habitaciones dentro del tiempo correspondiente. El camarero Wilfredo, del restaurante Colonial, fue muy afable y proporcionó un trato excelente, siempre de manera amable y cordial, haciendo que nuestra experiencia fuera muy agradable.

No me gustó que el check-out correspondía a las 12:00 p. m. Sin embargo, por responsabilidad y con la intención de facilitar el proceso, entregué la habitación aproximadamente a las 11:30 a. m. Luego me dirigí al área de snacks y se me informó que, una vez realizado el check-out, debía abandonar el hotel y ya no podía continuar disfrutando de los servicios. Por otro lado, la animación me pareció bastante deficiente, prácticamente ausente durante nuestra estadía. El show del teatro, en mi opinión, estaba principalmente dirigido a los huéspedes extranjeros, al igual que parte de la oferta gastronómica. El desayuno, el almuerzo y la cena eran prácticamente lo mismo todos los días, con muy pocas opciones que tomaran en cuenta los gustos del público dominicano. También quiero destacar una situación que presencié en el restaurante Colonial y que considero muy desagradable. A unos huéspedes que se encontraban sentados comiendo les retiraron el plato de manera brusca y la comida fue arrojada al zafacón, bajo el argumento de que ya les correspondía realizar el check-out. Considero que, independientemente de las políticas del hotel, existen formas mucho más respetuosas y humanas de comunicarlas y aplicarlas. Lamento decir que, después de esta experiencia, la cadena RIU queda descartada entre mis opciones para futuras vacaciones. Me da mucha pena, porque la primera vez que visité un hotel de la cadena quedé encantada y tenía una excelente percepción de la marca. Sin embargo, esta experiencia fue completamente diferente y, para mí, resultó ser un verdadero desastre.
