The location was amazing and was within walking distance of shopping, train stops and sight seeing. The house was very clean and had everything you could possibly need. It was exactly what we were looking for, for our family of 4. · Just a note that the stairs heading to the second floor are fairly steep and the one bedroom is in a loft area above the living room if you have an early riser.

A beautifully renovated traditional house with a stunning garden in Miyagawa-chō, one of Kyoto’s authentic geisha districts — within walking distance of Gion, Kiyomizu-dera and Sanjūsangen-dō, with a lovely breakfast and a wonderfully kind and helpful owner who took care of every practical detail (including luggage delivery) seamlessly. Would absolutely recommend.

I Never Knew Such A Place Existed
I have been fortunate to travel throughout Japan but have never run across a property that demonstrates the exquisite design and level of taste this townhouse displays. One will immediately recognize the upgrades and craftsmanship put into the walls and woodwork. The garden represents all that is Japan and ties so many cultural elements to any visitor. Kyoto is a place of history that can still relate to contemporary and modern trends. Any time spent here will enhance your visit and expand your senses of what is possible between old and new.
