Astoria Central Home Apartments

Location. Liked the art on the walls!

Arrival was subpar. When we got there there was a police operation ongoing, with people being arrested and search dogs. Police said they didn't speak English and we didn't dare go in in the midst of that. I messaged the accommodation and they just told me to wait. I later called them and, although apologetic and responsive, they didn't help solve the issue. When asked to send someone to help us, they didn't. They suggested to go up to the police and give them my phone to talk - clearly inappropriate in the middle of that. Aside from arrival, there were several things that needed repairs. Some handles were loose in the kitchen cabinets, the shower is loose and falls off and the toilet leaks. Departure was also uncomfortable. Leaving luggage in the premises was not allowed. Check out was at 11 and I was messaged to know if we were leaving early. I said no, yet at 10.57 we had the cleanning service knocking on our door. They were polite, but timing was annoyingly rushed.

Excellent central location, very comfortable and great facilities
