The village is known by some for its religious buildings, with Bethlehem Welsh Independent chapel, Gatehouse Calvinistic Methodist chapel, Church dedicated to St. Cross, and a mission room all within a half a mile. Just two miles away is Bangor's promenade, and the shops and restaurants of the city centre.
