We had a wonderful stay in this picturesque villa in Bar Sur Loup! Neil & Vivien and property manager Liz were very responsive and also accommodated an early check in which was very much appreciated following a long flight from the US.This is a traditional French villa in a beautiful area. We had 5 adults and 2 kids and it was very well catered for including all modern conveniences (Washer, dryer, dishwasher). The outdoor kitchen and pool area was the best part of the property. We spent most of our time outside and really enjoyed the local wildlife including deers visiting the back garden every morning. Thank you Neil and Vivien- we had a wonderful holiday and hope to return again some day very soon! Best wishes,The Monaghans

Lovely good sized Villa, especially the pool, with two kitchen areas all well stocked with tools etc you need. Very peaceful and such a brilliant area with loads to do as well as have some lazy days by the pool. It is a short drive to lots of places but no walks other than on roads from the property which is the only thing to be aware of. It didn’t spoil our enjoyment though.

We loved our stay at the House. The outside area and pool are fantastic and We only went inside to sleep.. one of the beds are small( wich We where informed about before We arrived) so the bed is only for short people og kids. Our contact person was sweet and helpfull with everything

We had a very relaxing and pleasant stay at this villa in Le Bar sur Loup. The pool is large and deep (down to 1,95m) and offered all kinds of possibilities for our kids to play in (aged 10 to 16). We also appreciated the outdoor kitchen and its barbecue (the gas stove didn't work, though). There was sufficient outdoor seating and deck chairs for everyone. The inside was ideally distributed for two families. Two upstairs bedrooms, toilet and bathroom, three downstairs bedrooms, toilet and bathroom. The house is well situated: very calm, great view down the valley, easy access to supermarkets within five to ten minutes driving distance. Decoration (much more than visible on the photos) and variety of kitchen equipment shows that the owners have their second home in France, and staying in this villa rather feels like staying at somebody's house than in a holiday home - some might appreciate this, others might prefer a more neutral and emptier house. Upon arrival dishes and cutlery needed some cleaning, the house itself was well cleaned. Both fridges have seen their best days. Toilet seats were a bit rickety. Wi-fi was working fine.

A wonderful traditional French family home set in a peaceful mountain side location but in easy access Cannes, Nice, Antibes etc. The house was plenty big enough for all 9 of us and the pool was much bigger than we'd expected based on the photographs which to be honest don't do the place justice. Being able to cook pool side was wonderful, we barely used the indoor kitchen for anything more than the fridge! The cost was very good value for money, so much so that we kept looking for the catch, but there wasn't one. If you have teenage kids or similar, there is an excellent go-karting track 5 minutes drive away which is also very reasonably priced. We don't usually need such a big place for our holidays, but if we ever do again we'll be back in a heartbeat.

We had a fabulous time at Les Lauriers. The house has wonderful views of the mountain, is not overlooked and situated about two miles from the delightful hilltop village of Le Bar sur Loup and within easy driving distance of Saint Paul de Vence, Grasse, Valbonne Cannes, Antibes and Nice. There is a good bus route (500) to Nice and the airport. The house is well equipped and and we enjoyed the top terrace for our breakfast in the early morning sunshine and the lower poolside terrace with a great summer kitchen (well equipped with fridge, dishwasher, barbecue, hob and plenty of pool-friendly crockery and glasses)during the day and in the evenings. The pool is "yards" from the two lower level bedrooms and is lit at night time. The house enjoys all day sunshine but with the stone floors and french doors it felt cool in the heat of the day. We would recommend hiring a car to explore this beautiful part of the Cote d'Azur as there are many hilltop villages to visit and many markets and restaurants. The owners have a helpful visitors' guide listing restaurants, markets, supermarkets and interesting places to visit. We enjoyed the "vide greniers" (boot fairs) at the weekends which are an institution in this area and we found some great artisan bargains, lovely french linens etc. I would love to come back again and would recommend Les Lauriers for a relaxing break in a stunning part of France.

We had a great stay at this charming Villa a week in July. All of our expectations where met, and we enjoyed our stay tremendously. The house and pool was well maintianed and everything we needed was in the house. There was plenty room for 6 adults and 4 children. During our stay we had a few questions and a small problem, but everything was taken care of as soon as possible. Very good customer service. The Villa is locatede in the hillside below a charming village (Le Bar sur-loup), in what appares to be a mostly residential area. Very quiet and private. There are several nice restaurants in the village, and we would especially recommend L'Ecole des Filles. A car is necessary, but there are many attractions within driving range. We took day trips to Grasse, Antibes and Cannes. The mountains around has beautful trails for hiking. Would recommend this house to others, great value.

Beautiful spacious villa at the bottom of a very peaceful valley. We had a fabulous 2 wks here enjoying the peace and quiet. Swimming pool was amazing very private. Short distance to shops including a very yummy patisserie! Easy drive ito the coast. Bar sur Loup beautiful little village well worth a visit.

We have just got back from a two-week holiday in this lovely house. There was plenty of room for our party of 8 people - 2 sets of parents and our 4 kids all in their late teens. The location and views from the house are spectacular. The house is well stocked with kitchen utensils, pool side loungers and things like books and CDs. The pool itself is a good size. The house stayed nice and cool in the hot weather. The Wi-fi was also very popular with our teenagers. You do need a car as the hills are quite steep and the shops are a 10 minute drive away. However, we also did some walks and enjoyed the scenery. There is lots to do - Cote D'azur beaches, mountain villages to explore, french markets, activities, such go-karting, canyoning and paint-ball. There are plenty of reasonably priced restaurants and cafes in the area. We also took day trips to Monaco and into Italy which are within reasonable driving distance. There is more than enough to do for a two week stay. We really enjoyed staying here.

We recently spent a magnificent two week vacation in this lovely villa outside the scenic and picturesque village of le Bar-sur-Loup and close to many of the beautiful 'perched villages' of the southern Alps. We were a group of nine adults who had a wonderful time in this house as there is plenty of room to give people personal space and lots of communal living space and thanks to the television we were able to stay up to date with the Tour de France! We had several cooks in our group and both the indoor and outdoor kitchens were marvellous and were well-used during our stay as we wanted the opportunity to cook for ourselves as well as visit many of the local restaurants. Thanks to the information package left by the owners and others directions from the manager next door, we were able to take advantage of many local establishments and found that local prices were quite reasonable. Having a central location from which to make day trips was part of our plan and we were able to both drive and cycle to Cannes and Nice along the Mediterranean and to Grasse, Valbonne, Tourettes-su-Loup, Vence and St Paul de Vence in the Alpes. Two of our group who are avid cyclists not only did a great deal of local cycling but also attended the Tour de France in Gap. The manager next door was very friendly and very helpful and directed us to many sights and experiences we might have missed otherwise. The villa was well-stocked with furniture, equipment and supplies and we were able to cook wonderful meals in the kitchen and using the outdoor kitchen and cooking fire by the pool. Any of the staples we used from the cupboard we replaced before we left for the next people coming to the villa. The salt water pool was also used daily by all and there were plenty of chairs around the large table and loungers for everyone around the pool. Our group often took the opportunity to walk or cycle to the nearest villages and there were several grocery stores within a short drive. While the road to the villa is narrow, the local drivers were always polite to other drivers, to pedestrians and to the cyclists. While it is possible to stay here without a car, the vehicle made life much easier. We were initially told that the local roads were far too mountainous for cycling but two 'sixty-something' fellows cycled throughout the area, including up the mountain to Gourdon! Everyone in our party enjoyed this villa and we have already begun to plan our next visit!

We had a lovely holiday in this villa, which is tucked away on the side of a wooded hill with views down the valley. Only the sounds of goats and their bells, and the odd bray from donkeys in the field behind the house! The owner of the property was extremely helpful: he organised a taxi from the airport for some of our party and told us where to stock up with good Rose! The manageress, who lives next door is a lovely lady who was always on hand to help and advise, but never intrusive. The villa was well equiped with plenty of room - the pool and summer kitchen area being the best place for long lazy lunches, and the kids spent most of the time swimming. We found Tennis at Pre du Lac, but 10 euros a time. The best beach was at Theoule sur Mer (Western Cannes bay). Lots of great restaurants everywhere - Tourettes sur Loup is worth seeing and spending an evening, as is St Paul de Vence, although it is a 40 min drive (beautiful scenery so worth it). I would definately recommend this villa - great location (we didn't find the narrow road a problem) and value for money.

Property difficult to find along a unpleasant road. If you have a low car be very careful as the driveway to the property will catch under the car every time. Reasonable size property (there were 3 of us in our party), but in desperate need of new kitchen and bathrooms - both very tired but have been advised these will be changed at the end of the 2009 season. No grassed area but good pool and outside facilities. Property is some distance from the village so make sure you stock up on provisions as it really is not a nice walk to the village as no paths so walking on the road. Although the access road to the property is awful, once you are on the main roads (about 1km) the area is stunning and easy access to Cannes, Nice, Monaco etc., so I have to say the property is in a fantastic location. Essential to have a car at the property. My biggest issue is that the owners leave lots of their own food in the fridge and cupboards and don't leave much space for those staying which we felt uncomfortable about but that is just our opinion. There is so much to do around this area of France for all ages, we ate out alot, and there is an extraordinary choice to suit anyone but we did not eat in the villages nearby so cannot advise on the immediate area.

Having just returned from France, I felt I had to write immediately in reference to this Villa. The villa is so peaceful, expertly equipped, (we hosted my eldest daughter's wedding rehearsal dinner at the villa and I was not looking forward to cooking in a strange kitchen, but there was everything and more available) The summer kitchen is an absolute bonus!! The bedrooms are tastefully decorated and the beds extremely comfortable. The lady who looks after the property is an absolute delight and was extremely helpful. I would have no hesitation whatsoever in recommending this property.

Propriété vieillissante avec manque d'entretien général. Propreté de la maison à l'arrivée médiocre (toiles d'araignées, boule de poussière sous les lits, mauvaises odeurs, gras cuisine, ect...) Les équipements sont vetustes et usés ( cafetière, parasols, aspirateur, balai, machine à laver, éclairage piscine cassé flottant dans l'eau, qui n'eclairait pas...) Une chambre avec moquette inutilisable car odeur horrible). Le point positif de la maison , le coin piscine avec cuisine d'été entouré de verdure très agréable.

We hebben een week verbleven in dit zeer gezellige vakantiehuis! De buitenkeuken (met alles erop en eraan) vlak naast het zwembad is alles wat je nodig hebt voor een perfecte vakantie. Het zicht achteraan op de natuur en het geluid van het riviertje zijn perfect rustgevend. De weg om er te geraken is niet al te breed en de locals gebruiken hem als sluipweg tussen 2 dorpen...aan niet altijd gepaste snelheden, dus uitkijken als je uit de poort komt :-) Supermarkten, bakkers, etc zijn allemaal redelijk dichtbij maar niet op wandelafstand...dus fiets of auto gebruiken. Als je op zoek bent naar een ongestoord plekje in zuid-frankrijk dan moet je dit huis zeker overwegen!
