Sunshine Grand Hotel Ikebukuro

I'm very satisfied our stay in Sunshine Grand hotel.The room is spacious compare to other hotel in Tokyo.The location is very good just across the Sunshine City.The airport limousine bus stop is just 200 meters away.Shopping center restaurant,subway,train station just around the corner it's all walkable.

Great location in Ikebukuro—about an 8–11 minute walk to the train station, though it can take longer depending on which line you need. I booked through Agoda, which advertised a kitchenette plus tea and coffee facilities. While the room did have a kitchenette, we were told at check-in that we were not allowed to use it. There was a kettle, but no tea or coffee provided. When I asked about this—since Agoda had listed it—we didn’t receive a response until two days later. By then, we had already bought our own coffee from the nearby 7-Eleven (about an 8-minute walk). Eventually, we were given drip coffee bags, but it was too late to be useful. The room itself was around 20 sqm—spacious by Tokyo standards, clean, and comfortable enough. However, as first-time visitors to Japan, we found the property difficult to locate even with the instructions provided. On the positive side, the hotel is within walking distance to Sunshine City and plenty of shops. Staying here for four days was convenient for getting around Tokyo by train. That said, as a paying guest, I felt the focus was more on strict compliance with house rules than on customer service. Examples include restrictions like one kilo of trash per person and limits on when you can use the hair dryer or laundry. Overall, while the location is excellent, the service and approach to guests could be more welcoming.
