Property was very near to the Cathedral where we were competing in the National NAFAS Floral Art Competitions. The property came with GC parking and close to a car park which was free overnight. The property was quirky and interesting with all the facilities needed for self catering. Dwight was excellent with his updates and was contactable.

The door lock was a little difficult at times

Handy for centre of Gloucester. Provided more or less what I needed. Host contactable by phone. Generously wide shower stall. Washing machine and consumables provided, plus clothes lines in small back yard, most useful. Luckily I’d brought my own pegs. Bed in back bedroom reasonably comfortable. Front bedroom not tried. It has more street noise and light penetration. Kitchen well equipped, apart from microwave; if there is one, I could not find it. Good Wifi.

Fall-trap stairs for elderly and/or mobility-reduced person, both of which I am. Staircase steep, and turns 180 degrees. Steps into bathroom-toilet are uneven heights. Host informed same day as I arrived, acknowledged, messaged that would attend to it as soon as possible. Not attended to during my five- night stay. Shower drain blocked so that stall filled to almost overflowing. Host informed as soon as it happened. Remedied on second day thereafter. Boiler system fired up noisily and constantly day and night for a few minutes, several times an hour. Despite hot weather, towel rails in kitchen and bathroom were hot; and I found no control to correct it. Breakfast bar stools dauntingly high unless young and fit, and of above-average height; I am neither, so didn’t risk them. Volume on TV could not be increased above a setting of 8, almost inaudible. Host advice unhelpful: all things I’d already tried without success. Unusually for a short-term or holiday rental, no guidance provided to the house and the use of its appliances.

Beds clean and comfortable. Large tv and comfortable down stairs area. Large rooms Central location.

Ants in kitchen. Access to toilet is in middle of twisting stairs. Noisy fan from restaurant next door from early morning
