Clean, quiet and convenient

No desk to put a laptop. Need to work.

The property was easy to reach, in a great location and extremely clean. We had a party at the racecourse and I needed to leave super early in the morning. The property was right on the racecourse, which meant I didn't need to walk far at all. it was secure and quiet. thank you

Good budget accommodation, clean and quiet.

Access was a bit difficult, could not drive up to the front door, parking at the rear of the building it a bit of a walk to get to the door.

cleanliness - cannot fault - cleaner than many costly hotels stayed in location price ease of check in

no light in car park - as lone female traveller felt unsafe pulling into car park and unloading car or walking to car in dark as no light. I am not sure if there is usually one that comes on but none during my stay. Did not feel safe -> on two occasions the main door found on the latch and unable to confirm if cctv within Hunters lodge. When security asked about making contact if any issue, clearly told by them they have nothing to do with Hunters lodge they just give out the key. One evening walked to lounge area to find a man sat in the dark on the sofa. I rushed back to room and never went back to lounge. It is such a shame because it is clean and perfect location and price but did not feel safe unless in room with door locked because of lack of security (lights did not always come on when walked down corridor, no light in car park, man sat in the dark in the lounge area, no dedicated number to call if needed help). Perfect if not female, lone traveller. On my arrival as walked down corridor looking for room another lady came out of her room crying and asked if I was staff. I explained I was staying and looking for room. She was not aware that Hunters Lodge was not a hotel with reception staff and she told me she was scared and felt very unsafe as had seen a man but no other 'guests'. she was too scared to go to bathroom alone. I knew what to expect in terms of room set up, shared bathroom and that basic but I also did not feel safe to go to the bathroom in the middle of the night. I think if both CCTV was visible and I knew I could phone security I would have felt safer and that the CCTV would act as a deterrent. If I was staying with someone I would think it perfect but as a lone female traveller would not feel safe to stay again and so would not be a first choice.

This is actually inside Cheltenham race course and is one of the rooms that the staff use during race weekends. Basic but very functional and lovely and quiet! Staff very kindly sent back my AirPods in the post after I left them in the room.

Saw no Staff at all, but Other than that all good
