A stylish apartment, spacious and right across the road from the beach

The spacious, well-equipped apartment is perfectly located for people who love the beach. You only have to cross the street in front of the house, and you’re right there. It’s a great spot for swimming and taking walks along the shore. Despite the road, the apartment — and even the garden — remain peaceful and quiet. There is ample parking available everywhere. Within a 5–10 minute walk, you’ll find two small cafés for breakfast, pubs for an evening drink or meal, as well as a pharmacy and a small supermarket — perfect if you don’t feel like going into the town center. For moments when you need a bit of warmth, the stove and the generous supply of firewood are wonderful. The landlord provides an excellent introduction to the apartment’s features and how to use them, is very helpful, and responds quickly to any inquiries. The surrounding area of St Leonards is perfect for hiking in beautiful landscapes.

We had an absolutely fantastic weekend stay at this beautiful house in St Leonards. Perfectly located between Eastbourne and Hastings, it’s an ideal base for exploring the coast. Free parking right outside the property was a big plus, and just across the road is a lovely garden that leads directly to the beach — such a peaceful and picturesque setting. The house itself is gorgeous — stylishly decorated, spotlessly clean, and equipped with everything you could possibly need for a short or extended stay. G was an outstanding host, sending helpful videos that made settling in a breeze (so much better than flipping through instruction manuals). The complimentary bottle of wine was a lovely and thoughtful touch. The bed was incredibly comfortable with high-quality linen, and both the bath and shower rooms were immaculate, complete with fluffy towels, shower gels, and soaps. Outside, the garden area was a real bonus — seating, an outdoor sink for rinsing off beach gear (or the dog!), and a peaceful place to relax. The kitchen had all the modern appliances and was very well stocked. G clearly has great taste and it really shows — the house feels like a boutique retreat. Locally, there are loads of great dining options. Our highlight was Laya, which served some of the best Sri Lankan food we’ve ever had — even rivalling what we’ve tasted in Sri Lanka itself! Cumbia Kitchen nearby served excellent coffee, and the staff were super friendly. There's also a convenience store just two minutes away, stocked with everything we needed (including wine and beer). Honestly, we can’t fault a thing. We’re already planning our return trip — highly recommended!
