Perfect days away - 3 bedroom 1 shower with decking & bedding

We liked the fact that it had 3 bedrooms.

The caravan could have been cleaner especially the outdoor area. Lots of cobwebs, coffee table dirty and bird dirt on decking. Also inside mattresses were stained and we found an earring on the sink on arrival. Left it on the outside coffee table. Also cupboards had owners belonging in them. Kitchen was okay but had far too much crockery and cups and glasses it was difficult to find the basic cooking vessels. I prefer the simple minimalistic 8 plates cups glasses etc. Cupboards again filled with owners stuff. Freezer had food in from previous occupants. Lots of air fresheners around too. The caravan is unfortunately situated amongst some caravans with large and noisy families. Lots of shouting, banging of car doors and dumping of equipment like barbecues at the bins. Don't think we will be returning.

The caravan park is fine, nice pool (indoor and outdoor), small shop and large bar/meals area (both pretty expensive- £7.80 for 2 glasses of draft lemonade, £1.75 for a tin of peaches). We stayed last year in another van, also through Booking.com. Same price or less but bigger, couple of bathrooms and much better presented and equipped than this one. Came back expecting similar but far from it 😟

We drove from Scotland and arrived in 31 degree heat to find that the key safe didn’t work using the code we had been given (we’ve used same key safes many times before and never had a problem). Pure luck got it open after a quarter of an hour of different permutations. Got into the van to be hit stifling heat (nobody to blame there) and an overpowering/sickening smell of scented air fresheners which we hunted down (lots of them) and put outside although the smell never entirely disappeared in the 6 days we were there. We’re not house proud or fussy but it didn’t look like the place had been cleaned since previous occupation. Floor in main area was gritty and the seating and carpets stained. Bathroom floor was dirty as was the shower. Toilet was leaking onto floor from the cistern pipe and flush didn’t work sufficiently to remove ‘solids’ - it took about 5 or 6 flushes each time - not a fun thing to do on holiday! We had to call in park maintenance (who were good and pretty much sorted the problem.) One of the bedrooms smelt of cigarette smoke, as did the hoover (which we put outside with the air fresheners). Clothes storage in each bedroom was a tiny cupboard which was further reduced in capacity by storage boxes, hoover and other bits belonging to the owners. In the kitchen the fridge smelt of previous food, there were remnants of previous occupants’ food in the freezer, the oven was dirty and remnants of previous meal still coating the racks. Oven control knobs we’re wobbly loose and the oven temperature control knob had been swapped with one of the hob controllers which was a confusion to start with. Crockery, utensils and pots all a bit worn (frying pans and bowls were ok). Wine glasses needed a good wash before use and one of the glass tumblers had a hairline crack which I only noticed when washing it. One of the scented candles was in a a glass vase that was cracked and a part of the glass broke when I was moving it.
