Biodiversity House Tebulo

We loved that we were at the end of the road - no one else there except the lady that made the cheese and gave us the milk. Plus two old blokes scything their patch. All of them live in the first Khone village, not the higher one in summer. ABSOLUTELY pure nature, untouched hillsides. Fabulous walking and rare plants to be found. The house is entirely off grid with plenty of solar and naturally fed water from the river above. The house has everything you need for cooking and is very warm. Bathrooms work well. One of the owners - Tolkha Shetekauri took us out walking and knew all the history of his families village. Can recommend this cottage if you truly want to be immersed in nature, but don’t want to camp/tent.

There are four river crossings to the house so you need to 4x4 or have the owners drive you in. The scenery is stunning. There’s nothing I didn’t like - bear in mind this is a mountain house, not a hotel. It has everything you need and I’d recommend a 3-4 plus night stay. You drive through Mutso and Shatili to get there.
